Chat is in the comics, she appeared in the Spider-Girl comic series a few years back. She's the mutant who talks to animals in the kid friendly Spider-Man MA series. Hope that helps? But I can try Squirrel Girl as a backup.

Either Morph or Chat from the Marvel Adventures Spider-Man series. I was thinking of bringing in Lance Alvers from X-Men Evolution. But I can use all three for a NYX story focusing on New York's mutants than just the X-Men. Sorry, but Morph's unavailable. How about using existing characters in the comic books or at the site? We're not exactly a cartoon fan 'fic site. I mean, those kind of translations can be done and quite successfully, I might add, but they're usually the exception to the rule. Like any comic dork, I love the idea of bringing in random elements of alternate continuity into a mainstream universe. But I agree it has to be done creatively, as a true introduction of the characters as if they'd never been seen before, rather than just a continuation of alternate continuity, which never happened in the mainstream universe. But, in regards to the anniversary issue, I'm down like a clown, Charlie Brown! I'll be using Psylocke and the Hand, since that's a great avenue of M2K continuity which for whatever reason, no one has really developed.

Chat doesn't exist in M2K continuity because she wasn't introduced before the cut-off (The Magneto War back in 1999) or after by an M2K writer. Squirrel Girl has, though. Just make sure to read up on her continuity over in PathetiX and I think there were mentions of her in Eye Scream.

Awesome! It sounds like we've got a nice little collection of writers here for the special. Now let's set a deadline. How does March 1st sound? Should give everyone plenty of time to put something together! Same standards as the usual specials? About 4-10 pages, in-continuity, with no major status quo changes to characters without dib holders' permission? If you're all down let's roll!

Just reread the Squirrel Girl storyline and her bit in Eye Scream, and I think I can gap the events where Olvia left off. I plan on adding a new mutant into my story just in time for the March 1 due date.

I'm in, but I have no idea who I would feature. Perhaps someone I haven't written before? Could be slim pickin's, but I'll try.

Just shot an e-mail out to everyone who said they wanted to contribute. I think the deadline for this bad boy is going to be sometime in late March. If you want to contribute now's the time to sound off!

Hey folks,
We've got three issues to go up this Sunday, but hopefully the XMU #50 special can round us out with four. How have you guys been doing on your stories? Any progress? I'm hoping we have at least three or four stories to get this puppy out, but more's always a plus. I know I'll have my story ready. Let me know what's what!
Thanks.
