Hawkman #1 When it comes to the Hawks title you have got me hooked just on the fact that you have kept them as a couple and not making them basically drift apart because of their complicated past even if they are going through a bit of a rough spot at the moment. I like seeing heroes being in happy relationships and not always having outside forces trying to destroy what makes them happy. Also thank you for building Blue Beetle up from just being the one sided punchline with Booster Gold. I always believed he could be one of the greats if he was just given the chance. Seeing Beetle and Zantanna teaming up was a surprise and I look forward to more surprises in the future. Before this issue I had no idea who the Coin was but now I was forced to go and look him up and see what he is all about. Two of my favorite Hawkman villains are Gentleman Ghost and Shadow Thief, so I am happy that at least one has showed up so far. Shadow Thief is pretty cool. Maybe I'll have to include him soon! Thanks for reading!

BATMAN # 1-2: I love Batman, and this series by the EiC is a great revival of The Dark Knight and his cast of allies and rogues. The first two issues really got my skin crawling with all the Joker clones in Part 1, until seeing The Clown Prince in #2. Even the Deadshot appearance brought me into this Batman series hearing Will Smith in my mind as the hitman. Can't wait for the next issue. Thanks for reading! Happy that you're intrigued. To clarify, the multiple Jokers weren't clones; just guys dressed up like the Joker. I'll start on the next issue this week! I am probably one of a handful of people that like the idea of the Jokerz or Joker Gang running around Gotham causing chaos in the name of the Joker. I always saw him as this god of chaos figure that some people secretly worshiped. I look forward to seeing what happens next in Batman.

I also really liked seeing the Jokerz in Batman Beyond, so maybe we'll get to that point!

Starman #1
Remembering well my time as a (totally reasonable) teenager, and well aware that I will have one of my own in about a decade (...yay), I can recall how ‘utterly unfair’ parents can be. The Willie Knight thread throughout this issue was my favourite part, understanding how perfectly reasonable she feels like she’s being, while also knowing why her parents are not about to start approving.
I also approve of how her disgruntlement by the end of the issue carries actual weight, in that Courtney did indeed do the same thing, and yet (ultimately), she got away with it, so to speak. I want to see more from Willie going forwards and, hopefully (fingers crossed), things won’t end up too badly for her...

All Star comics #3: Now, I am really picky about my Guy Gardner stories. He is so easy to write badly.
This was just right. Solid characterization, this is how Guy should be. He's a bit of a knucklehead, but a heroic knucklehead.
and nice choice of bad guys! Love old school Goldface. Never liked it that Johns turned him into a mob boss.
And the mystery big bad was a nice pick too.
This was a lot of fun.

Just read all three issues of Hawkman by D. Golightly. I enjoyed the storyline, Hawks as always been two of my favorites wish we saw more of the ghost of Gentleman Jim though, and it has been a long time since the Coin showed up anywhere I give this series 4 Stars

Liberty Belle #1: Had to check this out, as I am a sucker, for taking a c-list hero and trying to build up a solo title for them. Especially, if they have a golden age connection.
Decent start, wish more had happened. Both Jessie and her dad are likable, but it all had a CW TV Flash vibe, a bit of drama and an evil speedster shows up just to screw with the cast. Having read some of Emma's stuff, I have faith in her, but I'm impatient. I want to see Liberty Belle get the full 'Star man' treatment and see what her corner of the DCU will be like.
interested to see where this goes and has me wanting to pick a hero and give this kind of series a try.

Legion #1: Despite it starting with a certain big bad that feels like he should be built up to, rather than the first menace, everyone in the Legion cast sounds right and I really like teenage Clark Kent. Really solid first issue.

Travis I totally forgot I was writing that man but thanks! No problem. Been meaning to catch up my reviews, and thought a couple series without a ton of issues would be a good way top start. Plus, Bendis run has put in a mood to read more LSH stuff.

Thanking you for the kind words, and hopefully you'll be on board for the long run. Being as I haven't watched the Flash CW show beyond the first episode, I'll have to take your word on how much Liberty Belle ends up clashing with it XP That being said, if anyone has any suggestions as to who they would like to see evolve into being Jesse's own Rogues Gallery (being as, you know, she doesn't have one X3 ), feel free to let me know. They might appear sooner than you expect.

My only advice would be go light on evil speedsters. That gets boring in Flash.

Starman #'s 1-3: Really like that the Knights are a family, with almost no aspirations to be super heroes, just that with their history, stuff just keeps happening to them. Really nice use of Starman's history and supporting cast.
Only gripe: I don't like the kids. They're jerks. And I know, most teenagers are (besides Emma), but the Knight kids are both on a path of thoughtless tunnel vision, and I can see that they will both do something stupid eventually, the family or someone near them will get hurt etc.
I get that, and while I find it interesting that they are taking very different paths, I don't have the emotional attachment, like I have to Jack. So, they annoy me. I may grow to like them, but now, I just want to dopeslap them.
