Quick Fire Thoughts on... Red Hood and the Outsiders #2I feel confident in saying that my favourite part of the first issue was the interaction between Jason and Bruce, and the character development within. With in mind, I can also confidently declare that my favourite part of issue two was the interaction between Jason and Barbara, and the character development within. I love the tension between the duo, and the reasoning behind it, the bitterness also palpable for different reasons. Speaking from experience, I know what it’s like knowing that you shouldn’t do/say something, and yet feeling compelled to do so anyway. Jason knows he shouldn’t needle Barbara, but it’s almost as if he can’t help it, driven by the resentment built from her perception of him. It’s the sort of relationship that could probably be salvaged if either one of them were willing to hash their issues out, but until they do, that underlying layer of toxicity will always be present. It’s compelling, and I would love to see more. The rest of the issue was also solid, and I can’t wait to see if Red Hood and Black Canary can bring themselves to see eye to eye... Thanks for the review! I feel like I have yet to hit a good stride and feel for the book, but I think a lot of you guys will enjoy the deep digging I have planned for Jason and The Outsiders.
