We were having a lot of fun conversations over in the Alternate Suggestions thread and I wanted to set this up to help potential writers and interested readers settle on what we'd most like to write. I believe hammering down an idea for a setting will help us settle on what we want to do and help us come together on what world we want to create. Feel free to use both this thread and the Alternate Suggestions thread to hammer out details on what you want to see from a particular setting. Also, if I missed one that we were discussing please let me know.

I have to admit that playing with Spider-Mans future would be fun. Who knows maybe Peter and MJ have three kids instead of one like in recent stories or two like in the Mayday Parker series. I’d be down for that type of project.

Well when I brought it up is was more as a reverse 1602. In that it wouldn't be the future of the marvel universe but the marvel universe in the future if that makes sense lol. As 1602 wasn't ancestors of the marvel heroes but the marvel heroes as if they had been born in that time.
But it's worth discussing if people would prefer a more usual "flashforward" thing instead?

I'm actually down for either, I think there have been more than enough "flashforward" type stories that it could be interested to just move the timeline of the MU up.

Wether we end up in the future or the past, I'd prefer a 1602 take where we just move the MU to that time period.

Wether we end up in the future or the past, I'd prefer a 1602 take where we just move the MU to that time period. That's where my heart is too, I mean I just keep thinking of new possibilities. Like never mind that Cap idea for a second, take the X-Men: Since mutants are only just showing up in this future, would environmental damage from our time only get worse and worse and so the burgeoning mutant population would be blamed on radiation from the shattered ozone? Ideas just keep coming.

M2K presents tales of the “Alternate Past, Present, and Future” where writers take your favorite heroes and villains and spin alternate tales putting them in the past, the present, and the future.

That'd be great as an anthology series in the Alternate Branch but we were really shooting for a shared universe.

I'm going with changing one major event. Maybe something along the lines of Heroes Reborn, where instead of Franklin putting all the doomed heroes into a pocket dimension inside of a playball, maybe he drops them off into one of his oversized storybooks, melding the MU with some classic stories, like Peter Parker in Treasure Island, Johnny and Sue as Hansel & Gretel, Sam & Josh as Tom & Huck, Tony Stark as Gepetto, and so on.

I went with Ancient History. There’s been so many interesting periods of time that it could be really fun. Picture it: the Avengers are the leaders of Rome, a counsel that oversee and protect it, representatives of their great houses. Or the Invaders are literally the invading Roman forces, trying to spread the control of the Empire into currently unassociated countries.
X-Men in a Victorian setting could be quite interesting. Beast could be almost a Hyde and Jekyll figure and it could be noir and gothic like Penny Dreadful.
So that was my vote. I’m just less interested in a future setting, although I agree that whichever idea occurs, it should shift the characters we know and love to that setting directly.

I would love to see Spider Man 2099. Could work for you guys. I don't write because I'm dealing with a issue I have but I will continue to read your stories. I hope you understand.

The site did once have X-Men and Spider-Man 2099. I had written Spidey. I wonder whatever happened. Dave, do you remember? Did Wheatley have his X-Men removed?

I took the 2099 stuff down. Non-continuity stuff like that, if unfinished, tends to be difficult to find writers for. People just want to start the concept fresh.
I voted for future stuff, because I really enjoyed the M3K stories we did.

I voted for future stuff, because I really enjoyed the M3K stories we did. I am perfectly willing to put Captain America back on ice and thaw him out in 20 years.

I did like writing the New Warriors 3K issue. At some point I'd like to revisit that team, especially now that more issues of the current day NW have passed and I now have a few new ideas to toss that way to that timeline's Franklin.
