Out of curiosity, when is the cut-off point for DC2K? I thought I'd seen it somewhere but, after checking the home page, I can't remember for the life of me where.

If you are keeping him 'plain clothes' for most of the story, be cool if he encounters other spider-foes outside of work. At some point, we are going to want Gargan in the Scorpion suit duking it out with another bad guy, but the idea of the spider-foes having a kind of loose knit community and interacting in their civilian lives has a lot of potential. I had a similar idea, but using some c-list DC villains, that reading your idea makes me want to dig up and try and finish. Like those kind of stories that happen on the fringe of an established universe as well as giving personality to minor characters. Actually he will be plain clothed for a good portion of the story and even getting into brawls with out his suit. I actually wanna have him team up with a certain member of the Spidey rogues gallery at some point as well as someone he would have considered an enemy at one point. As for his suit I will be giving it a new look more of a sleek slimmed down armor type, since at the moment he is using a version of his Scorpion suit that’s more of an armored tank.

If you can get through the story and avoid snarky comments about the original Scorpion suit, then you've got me as a reader.

As a general rule of thumb, DC2K begins at 'Rebirth' but, as is the case with every rule, there are exceptions as certain characters have no pre DC2K history.
You can thank me for that, making things more complicated.
Assume 'Rebirth' unless contradicted by printed DC2K Continuity.

Ah okay. So, the New 52 counts and Rebirth stories don't? Just trying to see if one of my ideas works timeline-wise. Hahah.

So I was free writing and after half an hour produced the following chunk of writing. I ask would anyone'
a) be interested in seeing me continue this maybe for a Max/Fanfare entry, possibly a mini series.
or
b) working on this as part of a collaboration.
Regardless of this, I hope you guys all enjoy and I apologise for likely not putting this in the right place. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The figure dressed in amber armour accented by silver, including the wrap around helm he wore fired again, the red bolt of energy vaporising the blast door the vaguely Arabic looking woman dressed in a purple bodysuit was hiding behind.
“Nefer Neith Sinue, you killed my people, our people!” The man snapped as he advanced on the woman and wrapped his hands round her neck choking the life out of her. Gasping for air, the woman tried to remove the hands wrapped round her neck only for them to clamp down even harder.
“Jomo, I had no choice.” Nefer gasped as the darkness began to creep into the corners of her vision. “It’s not the same here.”
“It should be. All survive, all lives are equal!” Jomo growled as a bang sounded somewhere far off. “You betrayed everything that our race built over thirty thousand years of civilization for the morals of this backwater world? Your parents would be sickened by you even more than they already were.”
“I’m sorry.” Nefer whispered as she closed her eyes only to feel someone shaking her. Almost immediately she opened her eyes and lashed out, her fist connecting with the woman’s face hovering over her. It took her a while to realise that it was her head of security and not her ex-partner who stalked her dreams whenever she dared take more then a few moments of sleep. “Oh goddess, I’m so sorry! Rachel are you okay?”
Rachel Grey, dressed in a smart business suit whipped the blood from her nose and shook her head as if to clear some-kind of internal distress. “Are you okay, you were screaming and well look at your neck.” Rachel stated as Nefer sat up from her bed and slung her legs over the side, the pale blue silk pyjamas brushing against her skin as she walked over to the mirror. Almost immediately she knew what Rachel was pointing out, on her neck were bruises consistent with those of hands wrapped around her neck.
“Was anyone in here with me?” Nefer asked as she touched her neck, a slight pain radiating through her body as she touched the bruised skin.
“No, the scanners didn’t pick anything up.” Rachel stated as she double-checked the security system laced throughout the room. “I only came in because I heard you screaming, and I know it’s a little paranoid of me to protect you from nightmares, but this one looks like it’s more than simple bad dreams. Perhaps this Jomo person can help shed some light on the matter, you were calling his name a lot.”
“Jomo is dead, I am…was his partner back on my home world.” Nefer explained as she went back to her bed and removed a picture from the cabinet, one that showed a younger version of herself and a stern looking man with short brown hair standing next to a floating car. “Not a lot of my world survives, this is all I have of him.” Nefer continued as she placed the photograph back on the cabinet. “He stayed behind to keep the navigation network running past when it should have failed. Without that the evacuations ships would all have been lost in the Negative Zone.”
“I’m sorry.” Rachel sighed as she sat down on the bed next to Nefer. “If Jomo can’t help us then who can.”
“I don’t need help Rachel, not with this.” Nefer replied in a weary voice as she lay back down in the bed. “I let down my people, and now I must pay for it.”
“By letting whatever this is kill you?!” Rachel spat as pulled Nefer into a sitting position. “As your bodyguard I forbid it, you are not going to let some two-bit spook or repressed memory or whatever this is kill you.”
“You know I can fire you right?” Nefer stated with a grim smile on her face. “This isn’t Ghost Maker or Silver Sidewinder or the Dreamweaver. This isn’t something you can just punch to make it go away.”
“Maybe not, but when people state that Reed Richards or Tony Stark are the smartest person on this planet you always snort, tell me that they may as well be knuckle draggers bashing flint together.” Rachel announced as she pulled Nefer to her feet and looked her in the eye. “That you are the smartest person on this planet. Well put your slippers on, I’ll get you a cup of herbal tea and we’ll meet down in the lab where you can work on this.”
“When you put it like that.” Nefer sighed as she slipped the pair of Yellow Cat slippers on her feet. “Make sure you get a cup too because it seems neither of us are sleeping until this is sorted.”
