I had fun writing my over the top Wolverine/Santa Claus team-up back in December, but no one seems to have read it, haha. That may or may not be considered an alternate reality story!
As for what's good these days in the Alternate Branch... hmm. It seems like since January we've only seen a couple of new issues in the Alt Branch, specifically Brent's AU story and Michael's Merlyn Corps. It'd be awesome to see Ultimate X-Men, New Universe, and '70s Champions come back.

So my idea changed. I tried to delete the whole thread but apparently I don't have enough rank to do so.
Moving on... I am not going to write an OC here at the Alternate Branch but rather WOLVERINE. I've only written two of my big three fav heroes from Marvel in my slight tenure writing Fanfic. Somehow I never got down to scribbling some Wolvie tales. There is a lot I like about the character but starting in the 90s there was a lot done to him that I did not care for. My Wolverine era is the 80s. Frank Miller, Mutant Massacre, Wolverine and Kitty Pryde mini series, this is the time period that I am going to use. Its what got me hooked on my fellow Canadian's adventures.
While I am in the AB I'm going to change some things too. Wolverine is getting altered. He was never an X-Men, never with Department H, knows Alpha Flight by name only. How has this changed the X-Men? Spider-man will be radically altered as well. The Hand. Daredevil, Electra and scores of other will not be the same.
Another thing will be that anyone can die. Logan is a killer. He's the best there is at what he does. It is going to be bloody.
The opening chapter guest stars The Ghost Rider.
I hope some of you will join me on this crooked road that The Wolverine will be treading.

Looking forward to this! It'll be interesting to see what the world becomes when Wolverine hasn't had a chance to become the hero he's always been. Would it mean the world's become a darker place or a more fragile place? He's always been the type who crosses the line so others don't have to, but with him not around as a hero, well... it makes sense that quite a few others may have had to...

You are definitely on the right path, Corey. Wolverine never being an X-Man is only one of two cataclysmic events that reshaped this world I am developing and writing about. Its depressing and exhilarating at the same time. Nothing is as we know it to be.

It would be nice to see twists on m2k characters and concepts in this new world.

That's hard to say. I've not read much of the X Branch beyond Iceman and a few Wolverines. It is a daunting task as there is SO much material. It isn't really my take on the Marvel canon if I'm borrowing from M2k though.
I am currently reading Vol 2 of Captain America. Maybe Power Man and Iron Fist after that.
Nothing is out of the question. Got anything I should specifically check out, Eric?

I'm interested in the path Rogue will end up walking because wolverine was the first one to really trust her and be ope. With her.

But an X-Men without Wolverine...wonder how that would change Cyke. I think Logan through his personality helped keep Cyke on the straight and narrow. Sometimes the people who antagonize you can define you as much as your friends.

That's a good point, Eric. I'm not going to go into what every X-Man is up to (way too many for that) but the bigger names are going to get some time to shine as the series progresses. Rogue is too important a character to ignore.

The opposite. There is a delay. I had started this but then got some paying work which must take precedence. Had some more ideas while battling sleeplessness last night though. The world just got more interesting.
