Very cool! I'm excited to see this. Thanks David! The votes of confidence around here are much appreciated. I'm hoping I can really deliver. Have about a page of Gen X now done but it's rolling along. As far as Carey's run goes I think it was unique but didn't wade too far from core concepts like I think Morrison tended to do alot.

Morrison seemed to stress symbolism over narrative sometimes.

Ok so here is some news for everyone. The first issue of Generation X is done and it has been sent off to Cory. And along with that, I come with a preview!
The Byron Trust, Level 9, Imprisonment and Confinement 2, East Wing
Laura could smell the filth on these creatures in a way no one else in this building could. They were metal and toxic flesh melded together in some decaying fusion. They not only offended her nose, but her mind. Their screams rattled inside her head and drew out a fury she could barely control. A fury that became completely unleashed when the creatures moved against Jubilation Lee, one of the first people to show her any degree of kindness in a long time. She wouldn’t soon forget that.
Two metal claws protruded from her hands while one popped out between the toes of each foot. Jubilation watched in a mix of awe and sickening realization as the young woman started to cut a swath through the wailing creatures that smelled like a carcass. She had seen someone move with this kind of fury and precision before. A man she cared about more than any other in her life had many times done for her what Laura was doing now. The connection was obvious.
“Ahhh!” Laura screamed, stabbing the claws on one of her hands into a creatures face while her foot gutted another one, spilling out putrid entrails lined in metal. She screamed even louder, angry at the offending scent. Flipping away from the one she gutted, Laura’s claws expertly cut through the neck of another before her maneuver was even finished.
Jubilation could see where this was going. For every one that Laura cut through (and she was doing it fast) two more showed up. The numbers of these creatures…what the hell was The Byron Trust thinking keeping them alive? She couldn’t let Laura be slaughtered, no matter how afraid she was. Getting herself off of the floor, Jubilation reached into her pocket and popped a couple of pieces of chewing gum into her mouth.
She blew a large bubble and when it popped, she lifted up her hands and let loose her patent “fireworks” magic. The energy struck a group of creatures and sent them reeling and falling over each other. They were now dividing their attention between her and Laura. Jubilation blew another bubble and kept pouring it on.

I love when people call her "Jubilation." Yea I'm avoiding code names for the most part with my series. So it'll be alot of first names lol.

It was that old fuddy-duddy Professor X that forced code-names on everybody. Now that he's gone, it's time to be free! I'm trying to remember if, in the comics, many of Generation X were ever called by their code-names, besides Jubilee (which is really just a nick-name derived from Jubilation), and Penance (the only name they knew her by). For the longest time they never even wore masks!

Cool preview! We definitely need more of these on the board. I do have the latest issue in hand and it'll be going out with the next release.
Anyone remember when Jubilee was called "FX" for a little while at M2K? Haha. I just remembered that...

Pretty cool preview Eric. I'm looking forward to your rendition of X-23. She's going to be a killer I see.
