“Aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon,” the voice said.
Benny, tough guy that was proud of himself for not even whimpering after his ritual beating, nearly wet himself when he heard that voice. He knew who had spoken it and was shocked that he would waste his time with someone like Benny.
Benny turned slightly, but was too scared to move more than that. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the darkness come to life. Twin white eyes blinked at him and he saw a glimmer of yellow wrapped around a black symbol.
“Heavy charges for a minor,” the voice from the shadows continued. “And now you’re casing your next target. That’s premeditation.”
“I…I…I don’t…uh…” Benny couldn’t even string a complete sentence together he was so terrified.
“Benjamin Fishburne,” the voice continued. “At 15 years-old, they might decide to try you as an adult. That’s two to six years depending on how generous the district attorney is feeling.”
Benny stumbled over the garbage can he had been hiding behind and fell into the street. He didn’t even know where he was running to, but all he cared about now was getting away from that voice.
From him.

I'm nearly done with Batman #2! Working ahead of schedule on this series to make sure there are no interruptions.

I really liked the first issue of Batman. I enjoyed how you fleshed out the issue with both Batman and the GCPD showing what happens on both sides of the line protecting Gotham. Bringing in the Jokerz was a nice touch as well and I can not wait to see how the actual Joker plays in it all. I do have one question in one line you said Oracle is enjoying her night off. So is Barbara operating as Oracle in your series?

Well, there's an Oracle out there, but I'm not saying if it's Babs or not yet. I actually just received a prop for Batgirl this morning, so I'll keep it as a possibility for now. Thanks for reading!

I believe that should count as a review for Batman for Mathis

Well, the review contest was a 2016 thing. I haven't started one for this year yet.

Wasn't planning on it! I'm just keeping it an unidentified persona for now, especially since there's a new writer joining the group (specifically within the bat family).

I would love if it was Wendy Harris (aka Proxy) from the Bryan Q. Miller Batgirl series. I don't like the idea of Felicity or Chloe being in Batbook, because they aren't Bat characters. It's like if you had Lex Luther being a villain for Batman. You've got options to use if you want to use Barbara as a vigilante again and replace her with another Oracle like character. You could use Wendy Harris, Julia Pennyworth or even Frankie Charles from the recent Batgirl series.

Who could this masked marvel of mystery be?
'tis a quandary indeed.

Welcome! I need to send you an invitation to the email groups and get your dibs/gatefold up on the site. I'll try and get that done this weekend.
Everyone - this is Emma Woods, new writer of BATGIRL!
