As if gazing into the far future, here be a sneak preview from Girl of Steel #2!!
*ahem*
...
Kara Zor-El of Krypton was drowning, a tidal wave of blood sweeping her world away.
Panic overwhelmed her, light piercing her vision as she desperately tried to scream. She was trapped, confined inside a coffin, the teenager hammering out with her fists and striking nothing but obstructions. Fruitlessly she smacked her palms against the glass mere inches from her features, as black as the void itself.
Suddenly...
...relief!!
The sound of deadbolts slamming open accompanied the hiss of escaping air, life flooding into the tight confinements of her imprisonment. She continued to thrash against her confinements, Kara fighting to escape as the lid of her capsule sprung open, the small compartment flooding with fresh oxygen.
Kara Zor-El surged, inhaling deeply with a painful gasp as her eyes shot wide open. She tumbled over, every one of her four limbs fragile, the girl from Krypton almost weeping as she escaped from one hell and fell into another.
Almost hurling herself free from the suffocating confines of her tiny pod, Kara almost immediately fell onto the waiting granite. Her bones cracked as she landed harshly, blinded by dirt and struggling to take in the sight of the abyss around her. Her fingers gripped the unforgiving and rigid landscape as she pushed herself slowly upwards, every muscle protesting and her head spinning.
Kara blinked, now on her knees as she swallowed hard, pain running down her throat as she shielded her vision, the blue sun above not one that she was familiar with, dominating the skyline with oppressive heat. She struggled to remember, but the memories were fleeting, broken glass refusing to fit together and causing her only further misery. This world, this place she found herself in, Kara could see nothing but desolation for as far as the eye could see.
She mumbled, words incoherent as she struggled to make sense of her surroundings, the red granite she stood upon stretching beyond the horizon, mountains and ravines surrounding her like a vice. This wasn’t Krypton, this wasn’t...
Kara clutched at her own temples as the pain resurged once more, misery compounded by endless horror blocking out the truth of it, her mind running from the sight of cataclysm. She screamed, silent and yet overwhelming, Kara Zor-El cast out into the void and sent spinning into the abyss. She blinked...
...
...and when Kara opened her eyes, she knew that time had passed.
She had been asleep, this child adrift amongst the stars, exhausted, traumatised, escaping into slumber on an alien world. She blinked again and Kara almost felt serene, the young women looking about herself, lying upon the ground barely a metre from her pod, a tiny, space faring vessel she had once seen drawings of on her Uncles workbench.
Kara inhaled, slow and steady, tears staining her cheeks as she struggled to find her feet, staggering like a fawn learning to walk...

Would anyone like to sneak a peak of sneak preview of Girl of Steel #3?
Hooray!!
Because here's one now!!
...
Krypton.
Before the Fall.
“Where oh where could he possibly be?” Kara Zor-El exclaimed, radiating amusement as she had supposedly lost the baby who had been left in her charge, the teen childminding for her Aunt and Uncle. To say that she had originally been reluctant would be an understatement, robbed of a night out with her friends to care for a pooping infant, but she had to admit that little Kal-El was not entirely without his charms.
An uncontrolled fit of giggling gave away the babies position, but being as Kara wasn’t a killjoy, she allowed him to remain hidden, the girl tapping her chin and pacing about her cousins room as the glow of fanciful stars danced across the ceiling. “I just don’t know what to do,” she explained in mock exasperation, “where will I find him?”
He was, in fact, in the middle of the room, which was abundantly clear to anyone who wasn’t themselves an infant, little Kal ‘hidden’ beneath his own blankie. A second series of barely stifled giggles confirmed it, the shape of a baby bobbing up and down beneath the soft fabric.
Regardless of how forcibly she had fought against the very notion of babysitting, Kara had to confess her joy, the tickled blonde leaning over the small mound that was her disguised cousin.
“I can’t possibly find him,” she insisted, lacing her tone with an air of defeat, “my little Kal is lost forever!”
And suddenly, at the height of her ‘concern’, he was revealed!!
Giggling wildly, the baby pushed away his own blankie for the big surprise, demonstrating just how shocking it all was with a dramatic waving his little hands, the dark haired cherub grinning up at his ‘relieved’ cousin, his arms upraised.
“There you are!!” Kara grinned, taking the hint and scooping the delighted infant up into her arms, holding him close for comfort, “I thought I had lost you!!”
Kal shook his head, a long series of burbles and coos escaping from his small body as he spouted wisdom in what appeared to be his own approximation of language, waving his tiny hands about once more as he explained how he had remained ‘out of sight’.
Kara nodded along in understanding, looking appropriately impressed as she carried her cousin about the room, plucking his favourite cuddle toy from his crib and bringing it to his thankful grasp. “Well, I think you are very clever.”
The baby smiled, a coo of delight accompanying his glee, before he gurgled once more and leaned forwards, tiny little arms grasping his cousin. More noises were to follow, contented little murmurs followed by happy coos.
Momentarily, Kara was taken aback, before she matched his smile with her own and hugged the small baby in close, rocking him gently from one side to the other.
“I love you too, Kal” she kissed him on the forehead, softly and with meaning, “I love you too.”

Only comment is I'd want the colors a bit brighter. Dark colors and grim expression just don't say 'Supergirl' to me.

Anybody else miss the cape or am I just causing trouble?
Maybe if we changed the skirt thing in the top picture into an overcoat...?

Okay, so I've started working on that Power Girl story. I actually borrow's a lot from the NU52 version and the DCAU version as well. With originally being from a colony planet not far from Krypton. With Krypton's destruction, Kara's planet was rendered uninhabitable due to the radiation. Kara's parents managed to escape the planet with other survivors in ships and froze themselves in cryogenic stasis. (The part takes place early on in Clark's career like year 2 or 3) Eventually, Superman receives the distress message and used coordinates found in his ship to plot a course. After several days of travel, Superman detects a repeating transmission left by Kara's parents. He quickly finds the ship, and upon entering it he finds that most of the inhabitants are dead. Except for one girl, and after downloading all the information he can from the ship's computers he leaves. After a few days, the girl awakens and is obviously terrified. Clark does his best to explain the situation, his grasp on the Kryptonian language still has some holes in them, so there is some distrust from the girl. After several hours of talking the two of them get to know each other and become close due to their lost of their homeworlds. Once they reach earth, Clark takes her to meet his parents and the scientist Dr. Henri Starr and Sara Starr. She is adopted by the couple and becomes Supergirl. However, in the last few years, she has retired from active duty. Splitting her time between her role as a businesswoman and a Kryptonian Ambassador. Since the "Our Worlds at War" and "New Krypton" events, aliens have been pouring in looking for a place to stay. And Karen was chosen to become the Kryptonians representative due to her relationship with Earth. Superman wasn't chosen because they viewed him as a native.

Would anyone like to see a Sneak Peek of Girl of Steel #6?
Huzzah!!
I happen to have one here...
**********
When Kara awoke, it was to silence.
She was slow to open her eyes, her body filled with warmth, the light infusing her with hope. The room hummed with serenity, steadying her troubled heart, a tiny abode housing but a single bed, a veritable mansion compared to what she had become accustomed.
She was alone, the only occupant of the small room, curled up and still half slumbering, the smallest of relieved smiles daring to grace her features before she stretched, groaning as her muscles grew taunt. She relaxed with a relieved sigh before forcing herself to sit up straight, garbed in the simple robes of a supplicant, her quarters as spartan as an aspirants.
A deep inhale was to follow, Kara holding it as she closed her eyes once more, savouring her sanctuary and appreciating its worth. She could stay here forever, within this one moment, and never have to concern herself with change again, lost between the cracks of an unkind universe.
Would it be so bad to live forever as merely content?
Was that too much to ask?
There was a chime at her door, low and comforting, urgent and yet not invasive, Kara opening her eyes as the query passed, reality catching up to her at last, the cosmos demanding she move on. She sighed, standing to her full height as she approached the door, swiping her palm over a small light and allowing the threshold to slide open.
Her mood brightened almost immediately, Arisa standing opposite her, the wellspring of the elfin young woman’s joy refilled to full upon her return home, the Green Lantern restored in both body and soul. Kara was almost forced to perform a double take, her companion of these last few months once again attired as she was born to be, in the strong emeralds of her calling and all but glowing from head to toe.
“Well,” Arisa grinned back, “you sure do like to sleep, thought I was going to have to toss you out of bed.”
Kara blinked, uncertain of her meaning.
“You’ve been snoozing for two days,” her friend confirmed, linking her arm with Kara’s before the Kryptonian could protest and pulling her from the small room. “I am now certain that you are a cat.”
“Two days?” the young girl mumbled in disbelief, “I couldn’t have...”
“And yet,” Arisa cut her off, not missing a beat as she led the way down the corridor, “you did, an impressive feat by all accounts. We can add it to your growing list.”
Kara didn’t reply, unable to find the words as effortlessly as her companion, astonished by how quickly she had recovered. It was as though the Lantern had never been imprisoned at all, her spirit as indomitable as the sun.
“Come on,” Arisa urged, her enthusiasm infectious, “I have to show you something cool.”

A sneaky sneak peek for...
Girl of Steel #8: World's Finest.
Gotham…
No-one could navigate the skyline of the Narrows quite like the people who were born there.
Hazardous to say the least, several generations of erratic construction had created a haphazard array of pitfalls to ensnare the unwary. With floors built on top of floors to account for an ever growing, desperately poor population, the overcrowded island District had grown ever upwards, precariously held together by the needs of its people, every rooftop unique in the obstacles it presented, and rarely did they remain the same from one evening to the next.
To navigate the skyline of the Narrows was to tread lightly.
Batgirl hit the ground running.
There was no time to slow down, the young woman vaulting over the top of an air vent before deftly leaping across the divide between one building and the next, tucking into a tight, rolling fall as she landed on a rooftop one floor lower than the one before. It was second nature, navigating this parkour course from hell, Stephanie both born and raised within the tight confines of her home, her heart beating a mile a minute as even a single wrong foot could result in both a long drop, and a sudden stop arriving in rapid succession.
“STOP!!” she cried out, ducking left and right, both to avoid each new obstacle and to keep her target in sight, a gangly youth by the name of Michael Kaiden, local peddler and persistent pain for the otherwise, relatively law-abiding residents of the Narrows. She grumbled quietly under her breadth as he displayed further intention of doing nothing of the sort, his own wild, panicked dash only driving him further towards an impending accident.
Her curse became slightly more audible as he suddenly disappeared from sight, navigating a sharp corner that could have diverted him only who knows where. It didn’t take her long to make the distance, skidding about the tight turn and…
...That's all youse is getting for now!!
XD

Neat, can't wait to see what happens next Well, I don't want to give any spoilers, but I can confirm (with some authority), that Batgirl will not be taking over the Title, appearances to the contrary... XP
