Exactly what it says on the tin, what are your favourite story moments, be it from any medium, novels, comics, movies, TV, Games, whatever else in between, which moments do you remember most fondly, and have stayed with you throughout the years.
I’ll kick us off with an extract from my first, last and (regardless of the best efforts from those who will remain nameless) forever love, the Transformers. On this occasion, drawing from Season 2 of the original animated series, the two part episode, ‘Megatron’s Master Plan’.
After apparently shelving further plans to build giant purple griffons (no, really), Megatron hatched a scheme that actually friggin worked (the despot had a remarkably low success rate), and, through duplicity, managed to convince the world that the Autobots themselves were in fact the Villains, merely masquerading as Heroes the entire time.
With ‘indisputable’ video evidence on their side, the Decepticons convince the governments of the world (I assume, it might just be America) to put the Autobots on trial, after which they are found guilty!! The Autobots are exiled from Earth and Prime, being Prime, abides by their judgement, and they promptly vacate their premises aboard a new shuttle.
HOWEVER!! Which the Autobots on a one way ticket back to Cybertron, Megatron uses overrides the shuttles commands and instead directs it towards the SUN!! With them unable to manually alter course, Megatron watches on with glee (even performing a countdown) , and his arch nemesis and all of his followers are plunged into a fiery extinction.
With the Autobots done away with, the Decepticons promptly reveal their true natures and, before the foolish humans can even process that they have been duped, takes control of an entire city through force, and enslaves the population.
A retaliatory response is launched and soundly beaten off, a joyful Starscream declaring “that any further rescue attempts will result in the termination of this city!!” and an immensely smug Megatron to begin the following exchange...
Megatron: Do you see? Even Earth’s Mightiest Warriors couldn’t stop us. Soon other cities will fall, then others, one after the next until Earth... is ours!!”
Burger: No! I won’t let you!!
*Megatron slaps him to ground*
Megatron: Grovel for my amusement.
*Civilians stand in horror beneath the barrel of a canon, before the distant rumble of engines can be heard.*
Spike: Do you hear that? Sounds like...
Civilians: Autobots!!
Prime (from outside): Megatron!!
Megatron: NO!!
*Megatron blows a hole in the wall, running outside to face his thought to be deceased nemesis in disbelief.*
Megatron: Impossible!! I saw you disintegrated!!
Prime: Illusion Megatron. Just as you made the people of Earth see us Autobots as Villains, we to staged an illusion.
Megatron: Deceptions!! Assemble for battle!!
Prime: Autobots... TRANSFORM!!
*Battle lines of Millennia old adversaries form up in opposition to decide the fate of mankind*
Ironhide: And let’s show them a little reality!
...and then an awesome fire fight ensures.
I was but a tiny little thing when these episodes first aired and damn, to my widdle girl eyes it looked like Megatron and the evil Decepticons had actually firggin won. My beloved Autobots had been bumped off (little did I realise that they were actually reserving that for the animated movie, the trauma!!), and there was no-one left to oppose them.
So for the Autobots to arrive in the nick of time and save the day with a hail marry pass (apparently, on first viewing, I wasn’t paying attention when it was revealed that the Autobots clearly weren’t dead, but I was probably far too distressed at the time to notice) was the most amazing thing ever.
To this day I remember this scene extremely fondly, and it makes me feel all warm inside to hear Prime’s rallying cry, even though I know its coming. I also harboured a fascination with the fact that Megatron’s summons are to engage in battle, while Prime’s declaration is for the Autobots is to ‘Transform’. But anyways, I has rambled on enough for now, so what about you guys, tell me some of your favourite story moments of all time.

The first thing that jumps out at me is the City of Stone arc from Gargoyles. Man I LOVED that show!
Their first major multi-part story, aside from the opener, was the City of Stone story and that was just amazing. They were always so great at making ALL their characters multi-layered even the villains and this was really all about that as major reoccurring antagonists Demona and Macbeth's complicated backstories are splayed out like a dissected school frog and you see each of them being led to the destiny you see before you.
Plus the addition of one of my favorite side characters, the Weird Sisters, perfectly encapsulating almost every "triple goddess/witch" trope.
But the best part for me was the ending was an emotional payoff not an action orientated one with the big bad (Demona)'s vulnerability being her undoing not some logistical flaw or marital downfall.
The whole sequence where Goliath and the Weird Sisters lay out how both Macbeth and especially Demona led themselves to this point and that is who is at fault for the many "wrongs" they are letting consume them, no one else, was heartbreaking and perfect.

If we're talking Transformers, then the confrontation between Optimus and Megatron in the animated movie. "One shall stand, and one shall fall!" Goosebumps!
If we're talking Gargoyles, which is easily one of the greatest cartoons ever conceived, then it's in the opening story when you see the invaders smashing the statues. I remember as a kid, just being like, "This is heartbreaking and I can't look away." Maybe it's macabre that it's one of my favorite moments, but I just feel like that whole scene perfectly encapsulates what set that series apart.
One of my favorite story moments EVER is in Return of the Jedi, when Luke springs off the plank and R2 shoots out his green lightsaber. Again, as a kid, watching that I was caught up in the tense moment. As far as I knew Luke didn't have a lightsaber anymore, so how was he going to get out of this one? That 30 seconds of scene still makes me giggle with delight, especially since I've been able to relive it with my kids. The looks on their faces was priceless when I showed it to them the first time.

Well, if we're going to pull from the Transformers Animated Movie (and it's awesometacular soundtrack), then I have to sound out Megatron's cold blooded execution of Ironhide.
People always point to the death of Optimus Prime (as they should), but the point blank kill shout of an already crippled Ironhide does more to solidify Megatron's villainous credentials than any other act before that.
"Such Heroic Nonsense"
Downright brutal.
And let's not forget one of my favourite single lines of dialogue from any movie ever, delivered by Springer during the opening stages of the Decepticons siege of Autobot City.
"I've got better things to tonight than die!"
Don't we all.

In no particular order:
Optimus Prime punching a t-rex in the face from the 4th Transformers movie ( yeah the scripts are crap, but every one of the Bay films includes a beautiful scene to remind us Optimus is a badass.)
Doctor Who from the Empty Child two-parter: "Everybody lives, Rose! Just for today, everybody lives!"
Superman 2: The Phantom Zone criminals are threatening the Daily Planet staff and Superman flies in and just says "General, would you care to step outside?" and then there's a very cool fight in the streets of metropolis.
The entire fight to rescue Han at Jabba's pleasure barge is one of my favorite action scenes ever.
and of course, I've then got to include: "I am a jedi, like my father before me."
I'll stop there, but could do this all day.

Oh if we're bringing Doctor Who into this I could be here all day!!!
The entire confrontation between River and the Doctor in 'A Good Man Goes to War'
Pretty much all of 'Journey's End'
The moment in 'Fires of Pompeii' where Donna begs the Doctor to just save at least one person
'Girl in the Fireplace' where Rose and Reinette discuss the Doctor
The Doctor's beautiful anti-war speech from 'The Zygon Inversion'
The moment Oswin realizes she's a Dalek in 'Asylum of the Daleks'
I literally could just keep going forever lol

Yeah, I limited myself on Doctor Who, knowing that if this thread continued I'd just add another moment every couple posts.
And the Zygon speech would have made my list. Moffatt loves writing speeches for the Doctor and especially with Capaldi, he found an actor who could deliver a speech with all his heart.
The final confrontation between him and the two masters gives me goosebumps every time. Especially "You do it because it's right and it's kind. If nothing else...it's kind."
Going to miss Capaldi so much.

For me it was when the T-Rex in Jurassic Park broke out of its pen. Never had seen anything like that before, it looked so real and terrifying. Even today it holds up so well.

When the T-Rex hurls a Raptor through the skeleton of his processor, demolishing it in the process and declaring his new dominion over what's left of Jurassic Park.
Hear me ROAR!!

My favorite story moments would be:
Family Guy- "And Then There Were Fewer:" One of the best episodes as it paid homage to murder mysteries and Agatha Christie as we saw a fan favorite become a villain. Seeing Diane Simmons being a villain shocked me, as she was always the floor to Tom Tucker's women bashing. The twist ending shock us all when Stewie had to save Lois by shooting Diane into the watery grave.
STEWIE: No one is going to kill that bitch but me.
Diane deserves a comeback if she survived her fall.
Justice League Unlimited-"Alive/Destroyer:" Lex Luthor resurrects Darkseid and causes an major invasion. This leads to something that was never done...the joining of the Legion of Doom and the Justice League to take out one major threat. The twist ending of Lex saving the Earth by sacrificing himself to save it, and the big ending of all the JLA members going after the bad guys with Batman ending the episode coming towards the camera closing the DCAU.
Power Rangers In Space- "Countdown to Destruction:" An all out villain battle leading to the death of a major character to save the universe ending the MMPR era as a whole. This could have a decent end if the original Rangers made a cameo mourning Zordon, but we get a shock when the Rangers reveal themselves to everyone including Bulk and Skull.
TMNT 2012- The death of Splinter leading to the final battle with Super Shredder was better than what we got in TMNT:OOTS. In the series' fifth season open, we get a battle against TMNT and ghosts, even Splinter returned to help his family until going back to the afterlife.

The fight between Superman and Darkseid at the end of JLU is brilliant. Outside of the Reeves movies, it's one of my favorite Superman moments.
Love Jurassic Park, but I also love in Jurassic World when they let the T-rex loose to fight the mutant Raptor Rex thing.
Matt Smith's 'There is one thing you never put in a trap" speech from the Angels two-parter in Doctor Who.
A recent addition to my list is the fight on the beach between the amazons and the germans in the Wonder Woman movie.

In Jurassic terms that moment from (I believe) the second movie where the girl is in a shack with raptors at the door and is trying to dig her way underneath out the back and a raptor head come up from under? The ONLY time I've been in a movie theater where everyone jumped at once, lol.
Now the Wonder Woman movie? I thought it was damn near perfect but the scene that stands out for me is the talk Diana and Steve have where she realizes there's no easy mystic answer for why humanity is doing these horrible things.

Favorite moment, eh?
"I'm not threatening you, I'm unarmed."
"Good."
*shoots him*
*A second later*
"I am of course wearing full body armor. I am not a moron!"
Anyone who doesn't get the reference is scum, scum I say!
