I've only had the chance to read three so far but here goes: Ed's Avengers West was amazing as always. I love his high concept ideas, shamelessly weird plot elements and love of obscure marvel mythos that I share as well. As you'll see parts of this issue feed into my own series and I couldn't ask for a better work to lend me its air. p'ym the giant angel of doubt and advancement? Brilliant! Can't wait to see the others! Tobias' New Warriors was so much fun. The humor was on point, rapid fire and yet not over the top. Loved it. Even the little dig at a certain someone and another company's cinematic efforts was beautifully done, lol. It wasn't just the comedy that worked, Josh's speech to Juston was perhaps one of the most romantic moments I've had the pleasure of reading. Speaking as the writer of the hero imprint's other "teen" book I must say I feel in quite good company if a little lacking in my own efforts, lol. I cannot wait to see what happens next. Finally John Cheese's Villains for Hire was a thrill ride. Very edge of the seat as each line came across very intensely, you really felt like you were in the heat of this confrontation between pretty much everyone and Crossfire, lol. It seems roster changes are the theme of the day as here too we have some exits and soon some new entrances? Either way I will continue to be on the edge of my seat

So a day spent bleary eyed (thank you Conjunctavitus) and snotty nosed (curse you unseasonably late hay-fever) had me a bit under the weather. Fortunately, I can harness this storm of grottiness into a force for well writing reviews. With five titles to read it’s time to see if a prefect storm is a brewin' or if it’s going to be one of those days where it wants to rain but the weather can't quite get its ass in gear. And so with nothing further to add, let's find out...
Avengers West Coast #4 – Too many Avengers? Quite Possibly in the latest issue of Ed Ainsworth’s west coast tale as we see the old team hand over the torch. While certain moments were quite confusing what with outgoing characters mingling and lingering with their replacements, the actual plot was easy to follow and we’re introduced to a new and terrible foe from Counter Earth. Who remains after the dust settles is bound to be surprising, but whoever they’ll be, it’s certain that they will be in good hands.
Rating – 8/10 (Perfect Storm)
Fallen Angels #37 – Steve Crosby, Cody Weigel, those names alone carry power here, and when combined with the much loved Fallen Angels title, we’re guaranteed to be in for a good read. And I mean guaranteed, as we have action and a much needed resolution (or the beginning of one) for a title that’s been dormant for so long. Both the plot and the characters were exquisitely written and hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for the next part of this epic series.
Rating – 9.5/10 (Perfect Storm)
New Warriors #25 - So the New Warriors are having a change in their line-up with Ms Marvel and Spider Woman joining the fun. And while it is a shame to see some members of the team leave, Tobias Christopher's writing will certainly keep the quality of the title on par with what it has been. And while many issues with a departure can seem grim, Tobias manages to keep it light hearted and clean with little baggage. That said such harmony doesn't last long, especially if Annihilus has anything to say about it. With space bugs in their future, one thing that looks unlikely is annihilation of this title.
Rating – 8.5/10 (Perfect Storm)
Xavier's Academy #5 – A. Crute’s Alternate Branch title continues to throw surprises at us, in this case two Juggernaut’s (kind of). Not only did the writer capture the always chaotic always conflicted nature of Cain Marko really well that but we had a strong fight scene that promises good things for this title. As A. Crute’s work gets stronger so does the future of this title, and where once I was worried about the quality of this title, it appears the slow burn has paid off and all worries have been extinguished.
Rating – 8/10 (Perfect Storm)
Young Avengers #3 – That darn devil is at it again as Mephisto sneaks his way into this title and shakes up the whole dynamic of the Young Avengers. I’m not sure if Dan Dolan has read Christopher Marlowe’s Faustus but this title certainly had undertones of that title, especially with Hulkling’s demonic deal. All in all, it seems more like that the writer is trying to rip up a team before forming it, an interesting and bold angle to be sure, but then this appears to be Dan’s speciality. Hopefully we’ll see more from this title very soon.
Rating – 8.5/10 (Perfect Storm)

Brother Nature riding Mermaxx - that was cool. He's like the anti-Aquaman.

He's the anti-everything.
I also absolutely love writing Brother Nature, he's such a massive bastard.
Thanks for the reviews Dan, and also John. Greatly appreciated - and apologies if it was a bit confusing at times - my bad!

Greatly appreciated - and apologies if it was a bit confusing at times - my bad! It's fine, regime changes are always confusion incarnate, got one that's lasting over six issues coming up so no doubt It'll be my turn to sow confusion in a few months.
