It's time that I admitted it: Flash Thompson's days as Venom are numbered. So, who should be taken over by the symbiote next? Each of these characters would make for an interesting story, but tell me who you want and why! I'll work them all into the long term story, but there can only be one!

Miles is coming up in Amazing Spider-Man, but we'd love to loan him for a story!

I went with Sable because she's already in the series and would make a really interesting host.

I'm going to make a quick rant here. Only Eddie Brock is Venom. When it was Peter Parker with the symbiote, he was still Spider-Man, no different except he had a neat new suit. After he rejected the symbiote, it bonded with a bitter, angry individual who had a similar goal to hurt Spider-Man. It was the pair that was Venom, and a new host wouldn't really act the same way, take on the same appearance or even use the name.
That said, I like the visual of Silver Sable in the symbiote.

I was thinking Black Cat cause of Web of Shadows. I don't know if the Spidey writers have plans for her anyway.

Actually, if someone needs her, I can share. She was only going to be in a two-parter and that got pushed back as some storylines are getting juggled.
Just let me know and I can rearrange things.

And as far as the Venom thing goes, I gotta go with Eddie Brock.
I'm old school, all this new fangled anybody can be Venom stuff that you kids are into, not for me.

Honestly I am more of an Agent Venom fan since they did so much more with the symbiote and explored more of its origins. The whole grrr I wanna eat brains thing gets a bit old after a while.

Eddie Brock will be back, but will he reclaim the symbiote? Will the symbiote even take him back? I've established that due to Tombstone's torture that Eddie rejected hosting the symbiote. I get that for a lot of people that Eddie is the one true Venom, but there have been years of those stories already written. I'm not saying that Eddie won't be Venom again, but I would think that the nature of the symbiote would allow for new stories to be told with a new host.
I actually toyed with the idea of the symbiote evolving to the point that it wouldn't even need a host any longer. I suppose it wouldn't be a symbiote at that point, though. It would evolve into an independent entity. While I think that would be really cool to explore a new personality taking shake, newfound independence, and what kind of original character would emerge, I don't know that people would want to read about that.

I did enjoy Venom in space, but prefer him either as an outright bad guy or the monster trying to be a good guy, but doing it in his own special way.
Flash Thompson getting all introspective and going to AA meetings in a Galaxy far, far away felt weird and clunky to me.

IMO, I'm with Steve. Brock and Venom are so intertwined. I loved Agent Venom. I loved Flash Thompson as a protagonist, but his stories weren't truly Venom stories in the same sense Eddie's were.
That said, I voted Sable because Silver with a symbiote for storyline will ROCK.

I'm going with Frank, simply because the symbiote would really have to work to make Frank even more insane.
"That guy just used a double negative. Slaughter him!"

Silver Sable is winning! That's pretty cool. I guess I'll have to work toward something specific there!

When you get right down to it, Brock's motivation as Venom is pretty petty. "Spider-Man ruined my life by catching a mass murderer, thus destroying my story! I'll kill him!" Flash trying to right the suit, and himself, had far more pathos, IMO.
