Taskmaster wouldn't kill a potential future asset unless it was absolutely necessary. But he'd walk away with it.

Yeah, Taskmaster isn't so much fighting as he is recruiting. He'll give a pitch while dominating Zaran, and this ends with a new teacher at the academy.

Reasoning aside, Zaran is just outclassed. He wouldn't even score a touch on Taskmaster. Tasky's repertoire is simply too diverse and consisting of better fighters than Zaran.

The salvo of arrows arched across the cage towards the man dressed like an executioner only for them to be deflected by the short spear he was holding.
"Fool me once Taskmaster." The man in the executioner's hood hissed as he lunged towards the aforementioned Taskmaster. "Shame on you." He added, as Taskmaster blocked the blow, before spinning and slamming him in the face with his shield.
"I would never take you for a fool Zaran." Taskmaster replied, as he landed a double-footed kick into Zaran's chest. "That's why I'm glad that you were my first opponent."
"What are you talking about?" Zaran snapped as he rolled to his feet before throwing a sai at Taskmaster, only for his skull faced opponent to knock the weapon back towards where it had come from, the blade jabbing into Zaran's shoulder.
"I came looking for fighters to fill the positions at my academy." Taskmaster explained as he advanced shield raised towards Zaran, his opponent ripping the sai out of his wound and producing a second weapon before springing towards Taskmaster. Raising his shield Taskmaster sent Zaran flying over his head and behind him. Taking advantage in this change of momentum Zaran flung his sais at Taskmaster's exposed back.
"Do I look like a student?" Zaran asked as Taskmaster spun round and slashed the first sai out of the air, before smashing the second to the floor with his sword. "There's nothing that Taskmaster's School of Hard Knocks can teach me!"
"I'm not looking for students Zaran." Taskmaster replied as he threw a baton at Zaran's head, the weapon master ducking under the blow before three arrows punched into him, two into his shoulders and one into his foot, effectively pining him in place. "I am looking for faculty."
"You want me to teach?" Zaran grunted as he tried to remove the arrows lodged into his shoulders. "Why ask me when you are have obviously bested me?"
"Because I can't train the next generation of Masters of Evil by myself." Taskmaster replied as the sound of the crowd baying for blood sounded. "This will be the only time I offer this to you." He added as the host, the infamous Black Dragon on Mandripoor looked on, ready to announce the outcome of the match.
"One more question." Zaran asked as he grimaced as he pulled the arrows out of his shoulders. "Do you have dental?"
