Paladin, international man of mystery and master mercenary for hire. Equipped with impact and puncture resistant armour and possessing limited super strength, speed and endurance Paladin is a skilled close combat fighter. His real strengths lay in ranged combat, with Paladin having mastery over a number of firearms and stun-guns. In addition to this arsenal he has been known to use knock out gases and flashbang grenades to maintain distance between him and his target or get the upper hand against his opponents.
Rapture escaped from a world like ours, but the heroes and villains had swapped roles. Seduced by the Great American into a life of crime, Rapture used her ability to shape sound to create sonic weaponry such as scythes and axes as well as using harmonic pulses to scout out and exploit weaknesses in structures. While rarely in a situation where her powers would never work, Rapture has kept herself in good shape and uses her past experience as a wrestler to make sure she can fight unarmed when required.

Come on, Paladin NOT winning? Paladin is the most underappreciated character in the Marvel stable. He's a slightly more heroic Taskmaster. He's an absolute favorite of mine.

You know who else is underrated? His opponent's canon version, sure she's seen some more action recently, but they still left her to die in the high Arctic at the beginning of Secret Empire.

Paladin stepped into the ring, the bulletproof glass cylinder that was to be the arena perimeter rising from the floor sealing him in with his opponent. While clearly female, she shared little in common with the scantily clad heroines and villainess he was used to rubbing shoulders, and often more with. Clad in a thick brown robe and buckskin trousers, her face covered with a Tudor plague doctor mask, Rapture was not sexy at all, and the blood dripping off the long metal stave covered in valves and vents she was armed with didn't help either.
"Listen I get that you think you're a badass. Everyone here does," Paladin explained as he drew his weapons and opened fire at his opponent, "but you are outclassed toots." He added as Rapture just stood there, the stun rounds smacking into her clothing, her small frame shuddering with every impact. "And if you are going to make it..." The rest of Paladin's mockery was drowned out by an inhuman scream, one that fought against the noise cancelling hardware in his armour, and caused the cylinder to vibrate ominously. Moving her stave slightly, Rapture formed a long glowing pink scythe blade on the end of her weapon and walked forward, the scream fading as she advanced on her opponent before swinging her weapon down towards Paladin's shoulder. Not even flinching, Paladin fired another shot, the stun round shorting out the blade emitter, the scythe fading so it was only a metal bar that struck the mercenary.
"Got to keep your eyes open for any weakness in this game." Paladin announced, as he performed a leg sweep, the blow sending Rapture down to the mat. "Powers are a crutch that the other guys rely too much on." He added, as he went for a neck chop, only to be blocked as Rapture reached up and grabbed him tossing him over where she lay into the wall of the cylinder. Getting to their feet both combatants circled round the perimeter for a few seconds before they acted at the same time with Rapture letting out a long scream as Paladin opened fire, the rounds smashing into her mask and leaving dents in the beak like mask his opponent wore. Holding her stave out Rapture summoned up small hook like blades along the length of the weapon and charged. Shooting out a few of the emitters, Paladin changed tactics and dropped a flash bang grenade, the combined sonic and solar onslaught would hopefully be enough to stun his opponent.
"Mother Fuc..." Paladin swore as Rapture barrelled into him, the hooks stabbing through the outer layer of his armour. Knocked to the ground, Paladin made a grab for the stave, only to be hoisted up and slammed down again, the blades sinking deeper and deeper.
"You don't know me!!" Rapture screamed as she slammed Paladin down over and over again. "You don't know what I've done!!" She screamed as blood began to pool around the edge of her blades. "He promised I'd never be alone, HE PROMISED!!" She screamed, as Paladin's ear drums burst and cracks appeared in the walls of the cylinder.
Knowing that this was no longer a fight but an execution Paladin dropped a concussion grenade, the blast shattering the cylinder and officialy ending the match, as per the rules of the contest. Not that Rapture seemed to realise this as she continued to beat him against the ground. Cautiously the referee ran in and slung a loop of cable over Rapture's neck, electricity arching up and down her body until she hung limp and was dragged away.
"You don't know what...what he did to me." Rapture mumbled under her breath as the fight doctor and a team of paramedics descended into the ring. Paladin knew his contest was over, but at least he was getting out of Mandripoor alive.
