There was a moment when this was discussed in one of the other threads, perhaps the What Would You Like to See at DC2K?, and I think it could be really fun to develop the mystical world of DC2K. Even if it's only in a miniseries. I personally believe that should an idea like this get off the ground, it would be in the Edge branch because it could really embrace the darker, horror aspects of the mystical world. So, without further adieu, I present the option of . . . JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK.
First things first, the concept of magic is so general and widespread that we could amazing things with it. This is an opportunity to define and establish these characters in a singular place for all future writers to see the origin. With the cut off point, there had been a lot of characters that still weren't properly established in terms of whichever origin that writer had in mind. So, that could be something we could do. Justice League Dark could easily rely on the characters of Constantine and Zatanna, both amazing characters who I love, but I think it could be infinitely more fun to use characters with less star-power too. By this, I mean, I want to establish the Enchantress and other interesting characters would be those such as Etrigan the Demon, Klarion the Witchboy, or I, Vampire and so on. I think characters that can really play into the horror of the magical world, these characters are heroes in their own way but their motivations might not be what we would expect from the Justice League but they'll draw them to make the right actions. So, what I'm proposing is Justice League Dark as a five-person team. Each writer will choose a character to add to the team, someone whose origin they want to develop in a Justice League Dark: Origins issue, and then be responsible for writing one issue of the main miniseries. Of course, this means I would be interested in five other writers jumping aboard this collaborative piece. A roundtable, for anyone unsure, is a group discussion that directs the plot and the story. We would use a GoogleDoc as the "Bible" that keeps the story in line and work together to make sure that the characters are being written and portrayed the way we established them in the Origins issues. The idea would lead to 10 issues for DC2K, five origins and five of the miniseries, and tell the pre-agreed story from the roundtable document. I could work on this alone but I think it might be fun to collaborate so if anyone is interested then let me know!

I've used Swamp Thing and Tefe Holland in Teen Titans, and Tefe is a member of the team. One of my favorite Swamp Thing stories was when Swamp Thing meets aliens who are shaped like Walt Kelly's Pogo characters in astronaut suits, since copyrights and all. Swamp Thing could be a great part of JLD and could uses the powers of The Green to help the others.

Incorporating the mysticism of the Green into the world of the League and the foe they've come together to face.

I just read on Geekfinity where there is a new Justice League Dark series coming soon that has Swamp Thing, Detective Chimp, Zantanna, Man Bat, and is lead by Wonder Woman. Looks to be interesting and I’m a bit surprised that Constantine isn’t in the book.

However, as in the mainstream comics seems to be the trend, it plays it safe. Swamp Thing, Zatanna and Wonder Woman are all star characters. This could've been an opportunity to look at their resources of characters and spread beyond that, which was what the original iteration attempted. Wonder Woman, although mystical and tied to mythology, doesn't really belong in the book when Zatanna alone should be the leader.

And I don't know if I'd have gone with Detective Chimp as the teams occult detective. Not sure how up I'd be for another project, but I am a sucker for DC's occult teams, so would be more then happy to help workshop.

I’ll agree on the Wonder Woman part, she’s more myth than magic but she does have a bit of magic in her. I have to disagree on the Detective Chimp part. I love Detective Chimp and honestly believe he could give most of the detectives in the DC Universe a run for their money. He has experience in the mystic side of the DCU and probably more reliable then Doctor Thirteen or Doctor Occult. My thing is Man Bat? I have to ask why him. But any way back to Gavin’s idea... I think this is a great idea you have here, I would like to see Tracy 13 used more in something like this as well. I’ve been a fan of hers since her days of hanging out and protecting Metropolis with Natasha Irons and Cir-El.

I also have a soft spot for Traci 13 and she's always been woefully under-utilised. As it would, potentially, stand . . . It could be a very unique and interesting cast.

Why did you use that picture of the Enchantress? Her look from Shadowpact was far better.

Why did you use that picture of the Enchantress? Her look from Shadowpact was far better. I prefer this look, even if I didn’t enjoy that characterisation. The pointed green hat and cape is such a stereotype, a costume that Cyclone also wears, whilst the lunar sorceress one is dark, gritty and unique. It’s personal preference.

In all honesty I meant this costume not the original one with the hat. Also was kind of working on a DC 2000 magic title before this was posted. May have to put my stuff on hold. Attachments:

This one isn’t definite or set in stone so I wouldn’t put your plans on hold for it. Submit your proposal and if you take some characters we wanted, and people decide to continue with this, then other characters can be found to fill it.

Let's not be dissing the classic green stripper witch outfit for Enchantress. It's more distinct then the current 'just crawled out of a swamp' look. So few characters sport a nice hat.
And Swamp thing fights evil naked, and has been getting away with that for decades...
