Hey folks!
I was thinking a lot about this recently, and it came up when JD and I were chatting earlier, but it seems like M2K (especially the X-Branch) is in need of a "timeline" or some type of a "read order" to help new readers and writers know where to start. I think this would be especially beneficial while we continue to move old titles over from our old defunct server. I'm not exactly sure what this is going to look like yet, but I'd like to put one together. Any ideas how it would best be presented or created? What do you think would be most helpful to you guys? There's really only a few of us around from the early days at M2K (Brad, Daniel, and me), and a couple of sharp guys (like Dave and Steve) who are pretty familiar with the site, but since so many new proposals are coming in it might be best to hear from all of you. Rumor has it, Ed's pretty handy with this sort of stuff, too...
Anyway, let me know what your needs and thoughts are, and I'll get to work pronto! I can also answer questions and narrow things down quite a bit for any newcomers in this thread while we work on putting something together. Shouldn't take too long once we know what the presentation's going to look like!

I think this will be useful. You should go for it.

This will be incredibly useful for people trying to get into writing for this branch.

Anyone trying to make sense of any aspect of X-continuity has my support...and a small amount of pity.

Actually, using the Wiki would make the most sense. Keep everything in one place.

I still haven't checked that out and I don't see a link on the main page. Where's it at?
I started working on a preliminary read order/timeline hybrid. Basically, it's a bit too hard to build an exact timeline (sometimes a story goes six issues and is set in one day, sometimes it goes three issues and is set over several weeks, sometimes it has a six month jump, etc.). I'd have to review literally a few hundred issues to figure all that out. However, since there was so much collaboration in the past, most do fit pretty neatly into "phases." For example, Phase One encompasses titles and their issues that go from the launch date until the end of the Apocalypse: Ageless Fury crossover event. Phase Two goes from the end of Ageless fury to the end of The Twelve/A2K crossover event. Phase Three goes from there through Sons of Set and Shadow War. You get the picture. Depending on how we wanna look at it, that would either put us in the middle of Phase Four or the start of Phase Five right now. Each phase could possibly correspond with roughly a year's time in continuity (meaning around 4 years have passed in continuity), but that doesn't have to be the case.
How does that sound for a start?

John's been working on it for a few months now, but it hasn't been officially announced through the site. He can get you up to speed.

It has been announced I just think it coincided with the release of the first part of A vs X and was probably overshadowed.

I know Cory named checked me (thanks man!) I'm probably not going to be as handy as you think I am with this...but will help out with the Wiki.
Incidentally, I'd be happy to populate the Wiki for the issues I've written (like, Elementals, AWC etc. I say ETC like I've written much else...)
