So I got to finally sit down and watch the movie and have to admit that it wasn’t that bad actually. I really love how DC are making these movies to tie into one another by using things that happened in the other movies to fuel new ones. If/When you watch it you’ll know what I’m talking about that makes it tie into one another.
As usual Deadshot is still my favorite when it comes to these movies, followed by Bronze Tiger and Harley. I’m a huge martial arts fan so seeing one of my favorite DC fighters in the mix was one of the things that made me give it two thumbs up. Killer Frost got some more screen time and seems to be getting a lot of love from DC latly. They also included Scandal Savage and Knockout two characters that I enjoyed reading in Secret Six. The fight scenes with Scandal using her two claw blades makes me think I’m watchin no X-23 in action at times. Character design wise I have to give to the Copperhead design it was well done and made the character look way better then his previous animated desIgns. Silver Banshee and her punk rock out fit works for me as well. I just picture her host was an aspiring singer before the curse came along. Not a big Virtigo, Punch and Jewel, Blockbuster or Professor Pyg fan so moving on. They even threw in a little Doctor Fate for the fans out there, but some people might not like how it was done. Vandal Savage had a small part and his neatly he didn’t even really need to be in the movie. The real players are Zoom and Waller who both want the prize for the same reasons. The prize being the “Get Out of Hell Free” card that those who read the 2008 Secret Six series would remember was what everyone was after.
As usual DC outshines Marvel in the animated movie department. Good stories, great characters, awesome fight scenes, and all around well connected universe. I look forward to seeing how they continue this trend with The Death of Superman movie coming soon.
