So someone, I'm not saying who, set fire to the trainline forcing me to sit in a station. So what better use of this time to squeeze out some villainous reviews. Will these stories be a burning blaze or a simple damp squib, lets find out now...
Darkseid - Finally Dan Dolan shares at least some of the events behind the exodus of New Genesis and Apokolips. While this one shot does rise some more questions it answers the one burning (more fire great) in my brain which was why. With New Gods not stopping anytime soon we're bound to get some more answers very soon.
Rating - 9/10 (Blaze)
Joker - Unlike the grandiose scale of the other titles the Joker oneshot serms more personal, more sinister. Dave Golightly certainly has a way of reminding us what makes the Joker so entertaining to read and so deadly. Definitely a great read and a excellent foil for the titular character of the writer's Batman title.
Rating -9.5/10 (Blaze)
Larfleeze - Origin stories are an intresting, often only casually touched aspect of super villains. Not so for Stuart Fairchild's Larfleeze which shows the figures fall from grace and subsequent transformation into the living aspect of aravice. I was a little confused where the additional orange lanterns came frim, but all in all a good introduction to this character.
Rating - 9/10 (Blaze)
Red Hood - So is the Red Hood a villain in this, that was one of the questions I have to ask Jake Hawkins. It's clear that this was the action piece since it has none of the coniving I have seen in the other pieces. In addition Proffessor Pyg didn't seem like his usual demented self but maybe that was just my misinterpretation. Overall good fir action but confusing when married to the main series.
Rating - 8.25/10 (Blaze)
Vandal Savage - I'm not going to lie seeing Vandal mentioned in the release text had me excited especially when after reading I saw the nod to a previous or should I say future member of the Savage Clan. Not only did Travis get Vandal's trade mark brutality right he also covered the machiavellian aspect of the character too. As such I'm excited to see any future release featuring this character and his clan
Rating - 9.75/10 (Blaze)

As always, thanks for the nice review. I started doing the Savage stories as an excuse to write DC history, he was just the gimmick I would use, but have really gotten hooked on Vandal as a character. He's interesting to me, and I get to just cut loose and can be as vile, bloody and violent as I want.
And every story gives me ideas for two more stories, so I could play with the Savage family...well, forever.

DARKSEID - A fun romp into the twisted evil that sits among the fire pits of Apokolips. Darkseid, Granny Goodness, Kalibak, Malice are up to something devastating, and it all pins upon the yearnings of a young (not-so-young) new God named Bandit. I should definitely read up on New Gods to make some more sense of this tale, but I'm loving the detached and emotionless savagery that is Darkseid, and the machinations he makes towards his never-ending quest for the Anti-Life Equation. Oh, and the gift that Kalibak gives two of the New Gods is priceless indeed! (What's in the box?)
JOKER - Joker-approved sadism at its finest! The sweet contrast between silly and deadly-serious is put on fine display in David's fine tale! Very much enjoying our protagonist pulling item after item out of his comically-sized bag of tricks (along with Joker's dialogue), as his victim (I won't reveal who that is here) sits there - helpless to do anything but watch! On that point, who knew you could do such things with a simple whoopie cushion! David hits all the right notes here with
LARFLEEZE - "Mine! Mine! Mine!" was the rallying cry for this issue! I love the pure and utter insanity that the Orange power battery bestows upon its victims. (Wielders? Victims? It's all the same with the avarice emotion) As echoed before, I was a bit confused as to the existence of the other Orange Lanterns and how they never sensed the power battery itself before our weary (and red-shirted) travelers stumbled upon it. Nevertheless, this was a very entertaining read, explaining how Larfleeze became the avatar of the Orange! Stuart, how could you do this to me? Now, I want to go out and declare any and all Orange Lantern appearances as MINE!

Thanks for the review guys. Ive been so busy with work stuff that I was somewhat out of practice when I wrote it, though it was finished within 36 hours. Now only if I could do my other stuff I want for the site so fast. Ive been busy, but I want to surprise David with some massive email with stories.
As for the other Orange Lanterns, they are just constructs. Like I said, out of practice so I probably could have written them more clearly. I had to write it with some caution since there is no one writing any Green Lantern stuff and I didn't want to establish something that a future writer did not want either
