I just saw the trailer for the newest X-Men film and I have to say is it's better than some certain X-Men films that were rushed or failed. And if Deadpool's 1-2 and Logan taught us is that they can fix their mistakes from the past.

It kind of sucks that Fox would get it right just as they're about to reboot the franchise when Disney brings them into the MCU.

I must admit I was severely underwhelmed. It seems like they're remaking Last Stand rather than trying to adapt the actual Phoenix Saga. It's just so sad that my favorite character (Jean Grey) finally gets the spotlight and it's like... "meh?"

So, Charles is always wrong, Magneto is always noble, Mystique is the heart of the team and everybody else gets to participate in a cool looking group shot.
Probably check this out on netflix, as my daughter is a fan, but I gotta say my enthusiasm for this franchise faded about four movies ago.

Apart from Logan all of these films, post Last Stand, have felt the same. Days of Future Past was fun but the rest have been average at best.

"Jean, you're not broken."
Understatement of the century. Woman is beyond damaged.

I kinda hate how we've just been introduced to Jean, Scott et all, and she's already going cray cray

Days of Future Past erased Last Stand from cannon, and New Mutants might be a good non-cannon X-film yet.

Wait they have a timeline? lol because from what I can see Xavier, magneto and beast have been the same age for like 40 years now and Havok was like 20 years older than his younger brother Scott.

The movie continuity is almost as messed up as the comics continuity.

I dunno why they don't just do what 'Planet of the Apes' franchise is doing, a slow walk to the recognizable present. Ain't like there's any lack of X-characters

What's really weird to me is that X-Men Days of Future Past gave the franchise a perfect "reboot" point... and the first chance they get they totally blow it. They could have easily had a "prequel franchise" and a "modern day" franchise running simultaneously, even, in order to justify flicks like Deadpool and New Mutants.
Eh, back to the main topic... Dark Phoenix? Looks better than The Last Stand and Apocalypse, but yeah, underwhelming. I thought this one was supposed to be more comic book accurate? Or at least, y'know, involve space and aliens?

Apparently space is briefly involved.
