I thought this could be a fun little activity. It's basically about desiging a new superhero using a single characteristic: random power generator. Change the options to "1" and the power generated is what you use, no regenerating for a better power and no just making one up. This is to make it a bit of a challenge. From a few generations, the majority of powers are actually pretty decent so you shouldn't find yourself struggling too much. Hahahah. If it leads to some interesting results then maybe it could be a fun collaboration for an anthology or something. The power is the only thing that needs to be randomly selected but try and think outside the box too, if you decide to play.
Probably fair that I start off.
I went for a Marvel-based character but DC is fine too. It could be fun to maybe do our own Contest of Champions at M2K (if every creation isn't from America), since that event seemed to create characters in a similar manner: with their defining trait being their country of origin.
Happy designing!

Nice, love the use of Irish mythology thought that does make it a bit odd that she then chose a code name straight out of Greek mythology, lol. May give this a try if I get some downtime

Nice, love the use of Irish mythology thought that does make it a bit odd that she then chose a code name straight out of Greek mythology, lol. May give this a try if I get some downtime Yeah, that was because of the flow of ideas. She was originally going to be called Clover, but the power generator specified that her ability was to control "rock and dirt". So, I changed it so she'd be a classicist (hence Oread) and then I changed it again to a background in the law so the name seems a bit random. Let's just say her hobbies include reading about ancient mythologies. (:

I got invulnerability. It was defined as cannot be harmed on the site. very simple yet the definition could be very broad. Ill think of the bio

So I got ‘Heal Others’ which wasn’t the exactly what I was expecting but ah well, here we go... Codename: Project Sekhet Brood XXVII Real Name: None given at birth. Date of Birth: 19th November 1993 Place of Birth: Aswan, Egypt Origin: Man-Made Powers and Abilities: Seket has the ability to secrete a venom that acts as a potent yet painful restorative agent. Capable of healing more than just wounds, this chemical cocktail can also temporarily override fatigue, hunger and thirst as well as remove poisons from the body. This venom is deployed through Seket,s fingernails and through the scorpion stinger that forms her hair.
Back Story: In the late 80s the Egyptian government began to implant animal genomes into the unborn babies of political dissidents in order to grown their own super soldiers. Few of these broods survived birth and all were taken to research facilities buried in the desert. The being known only as Seket was one survivor, possessing the dark armour like skin and chitonous stinger (in place of her hair). Her appearance was considered so unusual that she was forced to wear conservative Islamic dress to hide her features.
Looking for a ‘super toxin’, the scientists assigned to Project Seket were supposed by the panacea effect of Seket,s venom, and she was moved to a re-education centre where her venom was used to cure addiction. Chained in the basement of the centre, her stinger regularly amputated to increase venom production, Seket became something of a bogeyman to the surrounding villages, with talk of the Scorpion Goddess, lurking in the depths of the desert. For her part Seket only knew three things; that her life was pain, that her poison healed and that she must never uncover her body due to her status as a monster.
Shortly into the Arab Spring the centre was bombed and later the entrances sealed, locking Seket and the scientists in a desert grave. In the short time they had left the scientists taught Seket about medicine and how to speak a few rudimentary words in English and French before, despite their charges best effort, they died of hunger. Some time later Seket dug her way to the surface and wandered the Sahara as a healer to the people lost in the desert.

I got 'Resurrection' and given my sense of humor, I think I can take this to levels that South Park probably hasn't thought of.

Wow. She sounds absolutely amazing. I love that you took "heal others" and transformed it into something completely different. Her background as a brood-hybrid, the experimentation and trauma she underwent, it could lead to her being a very shadowy heroine. Even her power, which is innately benevolent, has been given a somewhat sinister element. Yes, she'll cure you, but it's gonna hurt. Aesthetically, she sounds amazing too. Bonus points for making her Egyptian and avoiding America! I can picture her as quite an intense character and, maybe I'm wrong but, there's an almost scorpion-like element to her design (which fits with the background motif). I got 'Resurrection' and given my sense of humor, I think I can take this to levels that South Park probably hasn't thought of. Hahahah. That actually sounds interesting. Resurrection is a very practical power but it could also be a very comedic one for a light-hearted hero.

Codename: Al-Ayn (also know by Evil Eye or "Hot Eye") Real Name: Fadil Shah Date of Birth: December 11th 1990 Place of Birth: Paterson, New Jersey Origin: Unknown Powers and Abilities: Fire manipulation, control over fire. Back Story:
Fadil was always a curious boy, much to his family's worry. Growing up in a relatively liberal area being a Muslim American wasn't too much of a worry though and it was only after he moved to New York City that he really started to face some serious prejudices but that only made his curiosity into a fire in his stomach pushing him to go farther and be better than his detractors. He tried to avoid anger and instead expose those who would hurt others. He joined the Daily Bugle as a photographer, hoping to bring such injustice to light, and soon was able to catch shots of the some of the most fantastic events at just the right time earning him the nickname "hot eye" one he didn't favor due to the association with fabled Evil Eye (hot eye being a literal translation of it's name in the original Arabic). It was during one of these lucky moment he managed to catch The Fantastic Four fight off a cosmic alien siphoning power from an eclipse. Ironically during the attack it was him trying to catch a picture at exactly wrong time that the cosmic light shot through his eye burning it up. The happy go lucky Fadil became bitter and angry as he struggled with his now permanently damaged eye and limited vision. As he now embraced anger and this anger grew so did this new, more negative, fire within him and it was during a moment of crisis a powerful flame burst forth from his ruined right eye. He found that while this power was in use not only could he see once more with that eye but felt renewed once more an energy coming from within. He could project flames from his eye, control this blaze and even project his consciousness into the fire and control it remotely. He began to try an expose injustice in a new way, a much more destructive and combative way. Taking his once reviled nickname as a codename Al-Ayn, the evil eye. He never truly learned to source of his power, he's ventured to guess he may be the reincarnation of the goddess Sekhmet seeing the role the sun played in his rebirth and the fiery nature of his power and the fact that she was the red right eye of Ra. He's considered seeking out the Fantastic Four to consult with them on what they know about the events of that fateful day but due to his more morally ambiguous heroics he feels he'd be less than welcome. Fadil sounds awesome. I also like what you did with his generated power: "pyrokinesis". It could have been a more straight forward Human Torch type of character but instead in leaned into ancient lore (nice juxtaposition with the cosmic-basis of his powers) and use the "evil eye" aspect of myth. He's a bit of an anti-hero, kind of how I saw Seket in John's design, and now I'm wondering if I should have made Oread a bit of a grittier character too, hahah. It's also interesting that both Seket and Fadil have an Egyptian element to their character. Daily Bugle was a nice touch, it's like Peter Parker: After Dark. Riz Ahmed is a great choice. I particularly like that he can channel his consciousness through the flame. That's pretty cool.

Yeah actually originally his character emphasized the sekhmet aspect much more and just used the evil eye stuff as color but after I saw Seket I decided to switch it. Also I don't think I emphasized enough that his origin is completely unknown: he could be a mutant, it could be sekhmet or the evil eye, could be from the alien or the eclipse or something else entirely

I think that's interesting though. Not everyone needs to understand their powers immediately, it adds something to him. Oread knows she's mystically empowered, she was literally given her powers by the Aos Sí. Seket is man-made by a shady organisation. So, at least so far, I like that everyone whose played the "Design a Hero" game has taken the possible character in a different direction.

A shady goverment no less. Project Serket does takes its name from an Egyptian Goddess but there is nothing divine going on here. Just ask a certain Agent of Argent this Halloween...

Ok. Here it goes. This is actually my first female character
Codename: 'Esperanza' de la Muerte
Real Name: Sofia Vega Cruz
Date of Birth: November 1, 1992
Place of Birth: Leon, Mexico
Origin: Mystical avatar
Powers and Abilities: Invulnerability
Back Story: Sofia Vega Cruz 1992 - 2016 Beloved mother to Juan Carlo deceased husband, Maria deceased daughter, Esperanza Inez, twin sister, Mateo Jose ,father and Rosa Maria, mother.
Sofia was born a twin in the town of Leon, Mexico. She was a free spirit much like her sister. She was a good student, a practitioner of her faith, and loving mother and wife. While eating at a restaurant, her entire family was caught in the crossfire of a drug cartel war. With her dying breathe she pleaded not to die to seek revenge on the scourge that had plagued Mexico. That plea was granted as her eyes opened to notice her face resembled Santa Muerte, the Mexican personification of death. Granted with invulnerability, she has taken the fight back to the cartel as a widow for her family. She does not know what she is anymore. She does not know how exactly she got her powers. She could care less.
The chants from the innocent children of Mexico ring out, 'Viva la Muerte.'
