BOOM!! Boom I say!!! Why do I make with the loud noises? Because (after considerably more trial and error than I’m ever going to admit to), I have pushed enough of the buttons to bring all kinds of DC2K action to the internets, straight from the pens of our talented writers for your reading pleasure!! *nod* Without further ado, here be… Action Comics by Tobias Christopher: #20: dc2k.weebly.com/ac-20.htmlArisia #1 by Emma Woods: dc2k.weebly.com/arisia-1.htmlBatgirl # 12 by Emma Woods: dc2k.weebly.com/batgirl-12.htmlDoom Patrol #6 by Travis Hiltz: dc2k.weebly.com/doom-patrol-7.htmlGirl of Steel #9 by Emma Woods: dc2k.weebly.com/girl-of-steel-9.htmlHellblazer #3 by Chris Munn: dc2k.weebly.com/hellblazer-3.htmlJustice League #2 by John Cheese: dc2k.weebly.com/jl-2.htmlLegion of Superheroes #1 by Jake Hawkins dc2k.weebly.com/legion-of-superheroes-1.htmlTeen Titans #9 by Patrick Moore: dc2k.weebly.com/teen-titans-9.htmlTruth or Dare #8 by John Cheese: dc2k.weebly.com/truth-or-dare-8.html…which should keep peeps entertained for at least a little while. X3 On a related note, I would just like to thank everyone for their continued patience during this transitional period while I learn the ropes, and now that I (seem) to have the basics down, we can start returning to our regularly scheduled programming before you know it!! The wheels are turning, and hopefully we are now reaping those rewards. On a second related note, it has indeed been some time since the previous release and (with us being human and all), it’s entirely possible that some of our writer’s hard work has been lost in the shuffle. If you have completed issues for a series that you are working on that hasn’t been represented in this release, then please let myself and/or Mr. Golightly know, and we can make sure it re-joins the schedule on the next release. On a THIRD related note, I would like to give Mr. Golightly a BIG hug and offer him a MASSIVE thankyou for all of the hard work he has already put in for us over the years. Now that I possess first hand knowledge as to how many steps, and how much time it can take, to edit/format/create new pages/updates gatefolds/place links, links, LINKS, I have a far greater appreciation for what Mr. Golightly has been doing on our behalf, free of charge. Mr. Golightly is an Officer and Gentlemen, and M2K/DC2K wouldn’t be here without him. XD

Nvm it was an issue of BP. Off to start some Jason stories! I did detect a Red Hood shaped hole in this months release, I'm sure he'll make up for it in August's. XD

GREAT WORK, EMMA!
You guys should give her a round of applause, because she stepped up.
So, going forward I think it's safe to say that we can get a little back onto our regularly scheduled programming. I would prefer if everyone continued to send me stories and plot ideas for approval, so I can keep track of things. Then Emma can lend a hand with the actual releases.
Next: M2K!

My thyme machine works! Traveling back to January I can sneak a peak at what is to come. But will these titles be timeless masterpieces or a mere flash in the pan. Let’s find out...now.
Beware Spoilers...and you know moving cars.
Action Comics #20 - I must admit that this issue, likely this arc too, brings a nostalgic tear regarding a series that no longer exists. Tobias Christopher sets up a terrible conundrum at the final, namely is it worth sacrificing it all to save something bad to ensure a powerful force for good remains. Hopefully we’ll get that answer soon.
Rating - 8.5/10 (Timeless)
Arisa #1 - When is an #1 not an #1? When the ground work is already laid as in the case of Emma Wood’s Arisa series(?). With the shadow of Space Moria remaining it’s interesting to see how those who suffered under its oppressive atmosphere heal. Of course healing may not be so easy with the Red Lantern Corps moving in on our titular heroine. A brilliant start to what I hope will be an interesting series.
Rating - 9/10 (Timeless)
Girl of Steel #9 - Speaking of the Mountain, another escapee shows that you don’t need high octane action scenes to excel. I may have said it before but Emma Woods continues to impress with her understanding of the characters she uses and how to write them in an organic way. It also doesn’t hurt that we get some potential earthly foes for Kara not to mention that ‘S’ shaped bombshell at the end. All in all an essential read and pick of the pack this month.
Rating - 9.5/10 (Timeless)
Legion of Superheroes #1 - Another first issue, well only then. Getting down to brass tax, this issue felt rushed, at least to me. Maybe I’m wrong, maybe it’s first issue nerves or my ignorance regarding the source material, maybe it’s all three. That said I know Jake Hawkins is a good writer and can turn this around, all he has to do is make sure the Legion walks before it runs.
Rating - 6.75/10 (Staying Power)
Hmm it appears I ordered a thyme machine that only makes herbs and spices. It looks as if I need to fix it and come back later to review the remaining four titles. Until then good work everyone, particularly Emma and Dave for getting things fixed.

We're back again, and with all the herbs my thyme machine has made it’s time to sample a little flavour of the four remaining titles. But will they be a culinary masterpieces or scraps not worthy to feed even the alley rats. Let’s find out...once again...now.
Beware Spoilers...and er sunburn.
Batgirl #12 - Emma Woods wraps what feels like the overriding arc with Stephanie’s defeat of Man Bat, while both learning and simultaneously giving a lesson to the older heroes. One nit pick, it doesn’t even matter in the context of this story, isn’t Man Bat’s alias Dr Kirk Langston? Regardless a great title which I always look forward to reading.
Rating - 9/10 (Masterpiece)
Doom Patrol #6 - On the face of it Doom Patrol is a silly title, but Travis Hiltz has really proven that a cheery facade can hide a great sadness. The fate of the first Robotman is one we all wish to avoid, and it really made me stop and think about how bad the character has it at times. Plus kudos for including Crowbar of the Cadre. All in all a very satisfyingly good read.
Rating - 8.5/9 (Masterpiece)
Hellblazer #3 - Hands down probably the best magical type DC2000/M2K title. Despite being a humble ecotoxicologist, I have a love for the mystical, especially that with real world connections, something Chris Munn blends seamlessly. Also as soon as I heard about Hat Man, I knew who you were talking about. Hopefully this great title continues to grow.
Rating - 9/10 (Masterpiece)
Teen Titans #9 - Teen Titans confuses me, I never know which way the wind is flowing with this title. While Patrick Moore’s writing has improved the random elements thrown in are a little hit and miss. Case in point; Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew’s appearance, it doesn’t quite make sense, at least at the moment. Still this story was an enjoyable, if a little weird read.
Rating - 6.75/10 (Satisfying Meal)

Rating - 9/10 (Masterpiece) As always, I’m super glad that you enjoyed the issues, and Kara agrees with your placement of Girl of Steel at the top of the pile of Emma Penned Issues this month. XD I personally found the Batgirl issue the most ‘rewarding’ to write as it felt very much like a ‘season finale’ for me and, while it took a few drafts, I was satisfied in the manner in which Stephanie stuck the landing during the first stage of her Batgirl career. As for the Man Bat snafu, there is a reference to ‘Doctor Kirk Langston’ in Nightwing’s conversation with Batman at the end of the issue, however, upon just checking, the issue mistakenly refers to him as ‘Doctor Kirkland’ instead, which is my booboo. XP With the power of editing, I will fix it! X3

Quick Fire Thoughts on Truth or Dare #8
Spoiler Warning!!
In my (ever so humble) opinion, Dare has become DC2K’s resident underdog and, of all of our ongoing titles, seems to have the least going for her beyond her drive and willingness to keep getting back up. Dare has spent the last few issues being knocked from pillar to post, so I’m pleased to see that she’s starting to develop (somewhat inadvertently) a support network of her own, people she can lean on when she needs to.
Given that her enemies seem to keep closing in, she may well need it sooner rather than later.
Truth or Dare continues to be a rewarding journey to be a part of, and I remain eager to discover where it is going.

Dare is finally getting help but as we know she’s equipment and power lacking so she has to make up for the short comings with amazing parkour skills and sheer grit. She’ll need it, the Terrible Trio are coming to quite literally burn the house down.

Johncheese: I'm sorry about that with Captain Carrot and the Zoo Crew as I wanted to do them as a cross between Guardians of the Galaxy and Bucky O'Hare. I finally got Olive into the series since issue 1 as I have plans for her after this arc ends with the return of a familiar character. I now have installed Grammarly to help me out.

Quick review:
Arisa #1: Bit surprised how GL-lite our site is. Seems weird. We need to fix that.
Equally, weird is the first GL ongoing is Arisa. Not in a bad way. Nice intro issue. i got the feeling that being behind on my Supergirl reading I was missing something, but had no problem following the story. Liked the scene with her and Sallak.
Bit light on action and I gotta say I'm not thrilled with the choice of big bads, as the universe is a big place, but the Lanterns seem to fight the same six guys, but otherwise a solid first issue.
