The two beat cops came across the body of the red-haired woman dressed in a red blouse and jogging pants lying in the alleyway among the trash. Bending down, one of the officers took the woman’s pulse, just as the second officer reached for her radio.
“She’s alive, but it looks like she’s been stabbed.” The first officer stated as he looked at the shallow slash across the woman’s belly. “She need’s an ambulance though.” She added as she shook the woman slightly to try and wake. “Mademoiselle, you need to wake up.” She asked as the woman groaned slightly. “Mademoiselle are you okay?” She asked as the woman opened her eyes slightly.
“I’m fine.” The woman snorted as she smiled. “I’m Guillotine.” She snickered before snickering and snorting as she laughed.
“Mademoiselle, have you been drinking?” The officer asked as she looked at the woman and began checking the woman’s pockets. Removing a wallet, the officer opened up and looked at the image of the woman Jeanne Sauvage displayed there before returning it to the intoxicated woman.
“I drink?” Jeanne asked with a laugh. “I can’t drink.” She added as she began to get up before falling back onto the ground, a goofy smile spreading across her face.
Looking at her partner, the officer remove a breathalyser from her belt and checked that the level was zeroed and ready for use. “Mademoiselle Sauvage, I would like you to breathe into this.” She added as she held it before Jeanne. Taking a deep breath Jeanne exhaled into the breathalyser, until the machine beeped. As the machine was taken away, Jeanne continued to exhale until she felt light headed.
“Okay I’m going to go to sleep.” Jeanne stated as she began to close her eyes, only for the officer to shake her awake again.
“Mademoiselle you need to stay awake, we need to get you to the hospital.” The officer announced as the sound of a siren sounded from the street as an ambulance pulled up and reversed so the back doors could face the alleyway. “Mademoiselle Sauvage you need to get to your feet.” She announced as she helped Jeanne to her feet, the seemingly intoxicated woman dragging her feet, a blank gormless smile on her face.
“Where are we going?” Jeanne asked as the other officer knocked on the back doors of the ambulance.
“You’re going to the hospital to get that wound checked out.” The officer stated as the door of the ambulance was booted open with enough force to knock the second officer out. The remaining officer looked on with horror, as she saw the nurse with her dark hair pulled back into a bun, a light machine gun in her hands. Reaching for her own gun, the officer dragged Jeanne behind a skip as a salvo of machine gun fire raked the alleyway.
