Apologies for the late response, unfortunately, I ended up working the weekend in addition to the week, something that is becoming an alarming trend. Once again we gave a dimunvante of titles to review, this time from Emma Woods and Travis Hiltz. Something...something about history repeating itself, Anway review time!!!
Beware spoilers...and something I've already said before, maybe about bears. (Sorry I'm exhausted.)
Girl of Steel #14 - So the Eradication Mandate concludes with a battle of ethics between Kara and Origin, the laters desperation to make things work especially standing out in this issue. Of course, the characters reach an impasse and we get one of the most brutal fights I think Emma has ever written. We also get a guest spot from Superman, and Emma does a great job of picking up the threads Tobias Christopher has in his own Action Comics series, to the point where I suspected it was a collaboration the first time I read it through. Emma also sets up our next antagonist for the series, in the most interesting way and we also have a question regarding Origin's role going forward. Considering what we've seen from this new threat already, it will be interesting what he can bring to bear in a battle with the 'Girl of Steel'. Hopefully, we will see very soon, and maybe get a new issue of Batgirl to boot in the near future.
X-Men Unlimited #59 - I must admit Marvel's Cosmic section has never been a draw for me, but let's see what Travis Hiltz has brought us. Travis sets up a good deal of mystery and indeed tension with the mystery visitor and its interactions with the crew. The whole dynamic between the crew (outside of dire straights) seems bouncy and fun, and reminds me a little of the Original Trilogy Quartet dynamic, albeit with Ch'od more vocal than Chewbacca. While I would have liked a little bit more exposition, that's probably because I have the unimaginative brain of an ecologist and like having things explained to me. While I don't know if this is the genesis of a new series, I would like to see where this goes and what becomes of Corsair and his merry crew.

Thanks for the nice review.
Fun fact: this story was originally done as a try-out for another, since defunct, fanfic site, with the idea that I would take over writing their Starjammers series.
Do love the Starjammers, but there's no way I could handle an ongoing. Maybe, I'll do more anthology stories down the road.
