Really dug the newest issue of Batman, utilizing all those forgotten "Doctor" characters is a great hook for the story. No love for the Crime Doctor, though? Great job, Golightly!

Thanks! No plans for the Crime Doctor, but maybe later on down the road. Great to see your story in the mix, too!

I do like Dave's take on Batman. Bringing him back to his Dark Knight roots. I would love to do a Batman series in that style.

A nice quick story from Chris Munn. It's fun to see Constantine not be a jerk all the time. Bastard with a heart of gold and all that. Well-written and I appreciate the brevity.
John's story pushes Dare forward in her journey. I'm not always a fan of minor characters taking the spotlight, but I will admit that it's interesting to see what amounts to an original story being wedged into the larger shared universe.

Thanks for the review Dave its most appreciated, especially since Truth or Dare is essentially the series I worry about the most. After all I'm taking a punt on a character most people don't know as a main character.

Imagine my surprise when on Boxing Day after taking a break from whipping out a tribe of xenophobic space apes of a space donut I found anM2K/DC 2000 release. Still, I waited, a trip to the hospital on the 27th and a few nights of no sleep will do that. Still new year, new review, let’s see what Chris Munn and Dave Golightly have produced for us this time.
All-Star Comics #13 – Chris Munn continues his Hellblazer tales with a Yuletide edition, which honestly is inspiring. This particular tale doesn’t feature some snarling hell beast or end of the world plot, but simply a good deed was done to help someone move on. Chris not only conveys this incredibly well but in a heart-tugging way usually reserved to the works of Emma Woods and Tobias Christopher within this group. Seeing this kind of story gives me high hopes for Hellblazer issues yet to come. A must-read, especially around the festive season, if just to give us all a little lift of our spirits.
Batman #7 – Dave Golightly’s Batman is back, and it’s a blessing since the title and writer have been gone too long. As someone who loves to use minor characters, even attempt to give them new life I must admit I’d never stumbled over Doctor Tzin-Tzin but this incarnation makes me want to see what the character can do. Once again Dave writes Batman perfectly, using smarts and skills as much as strength for the Dark Knight to overcome his enemies. Not only that, but Dave weaves in references to the rest of DC2000 and his own Bat mythos incredibly well. Hopefully, we won’t wait too long until we see Issue 8 and the ending of ‘the Hospital of Pain.’
