C.O.D.E. Confidential # 5: I like this event story so far. Dave does a great job on the Mirror,Mirror trope and it works. I would have wanted evil Wolverine to be Badger, since Logan was going to have that name before Wolverine. Can't wait for the conclusion. GRADE- A

Thank you! Trying to write the final installment now. Tying plots from 5 years ago into what I want now is proving difficult.

Better late than never, here are some reviews!
Black Panther #11: Jake Hawkins returns to Black Panther for the first M2K issue post-time skip. We find our hero in a more violent mode and away from his home nation. Hawkins does a fantastic job of setting up this new direction for T'Challa while creating intrigue into what has transpired since we last saw him. I particularly enjoy the way that Black Panther runs through an entire floor of enemies in search of his target. I can't wait to see where this story goes next!
C.O.D.E. Confidential #5: As a child of the (late) 90s, I've always had a fondness for Jubilee. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see D. Golightly give her the spotlight in this penultimate issue of his big event series. The heroes have formulated their plan to take on the doppelgangers and it means teaming up with Doom himself. I liked the dynamic with Jubilee needing a ton of convincing to be even somewhat on board with the plan. I also enjoyed Cap's big moment and his apprehension about working with Doom. I hope we get to see more of the two of them fighting side-by-side as that was a highlight. All of the pieces are in place and I eagerly await the final showdown.
Ultimate Spider-Man #1: Jake Hawkins puts a new spin on the web-slinger with this first issue. We have a younger Peter Parker and a Richard Parker who is still alive (for now). Those aren't the only changes but they are the most exciting in this debut issue. A lot of this is set-up for what is to come, but Hawkins draws us in with a loving portrayal of Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Their love for Peter and disappointment in Richard's focus on work over family is the dramatic crux. Even with all the changes, it always comes down to a spider bite and that's what leaves young Peter in the hospital as we close on this issue. Spider-Man is just around the corner, but I have no problem waiting for him when the character work is this good.

Appreciate the kind reviews as well as not hating me for the slowest of burns on Spidey!

Some more reviews!
X-Men Legacy: X-Men Alpha #1-4: Cory Wiegel brings back these tales from the early days of M2K and wraps up some of the lignering plot threads with a story of his own. I'm going to mainly focus on #4 as, to my knowledge, Cory still frequents the boards now and again. #4 takes the strands established in the previous issues and concludes the saga of the mutant who attacked Congress. I enjoyed seeing Cannonball take to being a leader and his offer of membership to Thunderbird was a nice gesture. I really love these snapshots to a bygone era of the site.
X-Men: Mutant Underground #5: We (time) jump into a new era for the Mutant Underground and it was fun to see where all our favorite mutant heroes end up as the Underground expands. We also get some teases of what the future might hold and they are not looking good. To be clear, the present is also a little bleak as our heroes fend off an attack from Leper Queen herself. I'm interested to see how Paige McMahon builds on this new status quo and can't wait for more!
Batman #11: Jake Hawkins continues his run on the Dark Knight! Batman and Robin continue their investigations and I enjoy getting to see how Damian handles criminals when left on his own. I also liked the interaction between Batman and Rachel Dawes. It seems as though the pieces are coming together as another attack on the mayor is in the works. I look forward to seeing how this all comes together and how the Bat will save the day.
