[glow=green,2,400]MARVEL FANTASY #1 by Ben Wolfert
THE GOOD: Ben really does a good job of merging the feels of Marvel and Final Fantasy together here in this first issue. I can almost see the little blue text boxes popping up throughout the story as each character talks. The main character of this story, Cyclops, kinda has that innocent naivety that a lot of FF main characters seem to have at the beginning of the game. And out of all the villains to pop up in this issue I was hardly expecting The Owl to be the first one. Ben gets extra props from me on that one because I now know that there will be a variety of Marvel characters showing up throughout this series.
THE BAD: Ben’s action scenes weren’t as crisp or as tight as I know he can make them. Just check out X-MEN at AV2K to see what I’m talking about. Ben can absorb you into the action and I really wasn’t that way with this issue.
OVERALL: A nice start to what looks like to be a nice addition to M2K’s now resurrected Alternate Branch. Any chance of Final Fantasy characters popping up? [/glow]
