Hey guys,
For those of you have read Marvel Fantasy, I'd like to pique your brain about something. My girlfriend recently read over the first three issues (and she knows very little about comics), and like it, and was able to connect despite her knowledge of the characters. Her one issue was the flashbacks. They said they distracted her a bit. She understands their necessity as a plot device (she's a smart gal), and it might be that she read all three issues close together, but she said it made things seem a bit jumpy. What're your thoughts, and comments/criticisms in general?
Thanks!
Ben

Sorry for the uber late response, Ben! I totally forgot about this post. Yeah, to an extent the flashback scenes can break up the flow of your story. There's a real energy to the "now scenes" and sometimes the "then scenes" can disrupt that, despite being informative and somewhat crucial to the story. I'd either use the flashback scenes sparingly or find a new way to implement the information you want to give the readers.
