Hm... put me down for X-Patrol or Challengers of the Fantastic. Curse you Cory for beating me to Spider-Boy!
Here's an interesting idea though- why don't we write some of the stories referenced in the one-shots? I thought those were some of the funnest things about them. Sure, Secret War on Infinite Earths didn't happen, but what would have happened if it did? Even if it was only the next issue blurbs that we wrote, that could be a lot of fun!

Oh yeah, would there be a DC site that might be interested in co-hosting these? Maybe? Or is that too much?

Curt Fernlund's JLU 2001 is more or less our defacto sister site. We could always talk to him about possibly co-hosting these issues, and maybe seeing if any of the writers there are interested. No offense to Curt, though, but that just seems like it might get messier than I'd like this to be.

I like those two ideas, actually. We should open it up some to our JL/Avengers crossoverers.
And doing some of those mentioned stories would be pretty awesome.

And Dare was supposebly resurrected in the fictional Assassins #2, I think...

This has some serious potential now. The previous crossover with Curt went well (although it was largely thanks to Munn). With a little luck we could make this happen again!

Darn. My fave Amalgam character has been snatched up but I'd love to tell some stories with the Challengers of the Fantastic or Iron Lantern.

I can have a Catsai story done inside a couple of weeks. It wouldn't feature Dare as well, but it could easily reference her as still being alive if anyone else wanted to write a story with her.
I also have a choice of villain in mind if there's going to be any kind of Dibbing happening.

After discussing it with my editor cohorts, I think we'll be targeting this for Januray (what a way to ring in the new year!). That leaves plenty of time to write up your stories, although the first ones to come in will be the first ones posted *hehe*.
With a little luck and some schmoozing, we may be able to get another site to host the issues as well (plus dip into their talent pool for stories). We're working on it and the feelers have been extended! Just have to wait for a reply from a certain individual now...

Count me down for... WORLD'S FINEST UNTOLD TALES (Darkclaw/Super Soldier) ...unless I can get a co-writer (specifically a DC writer!) to help out on THE JUSTICE LEAGUE AVENGERS.
There. That's my final call. I added incentive for cross-pollination.

That wouldn't happen to be Mister Hintze would it? lol!
Right now I'm getting an image of a new Amalgam villain fighting the X-Patrol to a standstill!
BTW, when DC and Marvel did the two batches, Marvel released six and DC released six at the same time. If we want to involve a DC group, I'd suggest doing it like that. "We'll do this many with these characters..."
And we need to include fake letter columns, and maybe even solicitations!

Heya. New to the site (relatively, been reading off and on for awhile now) and don't post much on message boards. Anyhow, I'm in the process of propping a title to the site and thought this Amalgam special sounded pretty cool. I immediately had some ideas for a Dr. Strangefate one-shot and was told I should post it here, just so people know what I'm doing.
So I’m probably looking to use Dr. Strangefate, White Witch, maybe Skulk, as well as some original self-made amalgams for a Midnight Sons/Sentinels of Magic amalgam (Midnight Sentinels).
Oh, and I think the idea of adding things like fake reader mail is great, and absolutely something I'd want to include in mine.
Best, Alan Strauss

Does anyone have an idea of how they'd like this to work? As in, a scattering of single-issue releases in the way that happened with the original Amalgam, or as individual stories all collected together in an Anthology format?
How does the sound of the old Marvel Comics Presents... series sound, where each issue was composed of four stories? That could be done in prose format, with each writer splitting down their stories into smaller, serialised chunks (the way Barry did in Tales To Astonish at AV2K) and a number of serials running concurrently.
Just an idea, one that would incorporate the work of a number of different writers all in the same ongoing series (or, at least, ongoing until the stories dried up, in which case the series would end naturally)...

I was thinking of something along those lines. Probably get two or three stories in one issue of an anthology style series, with simple "jump to" links at the top of the issue.
