I have a geek question. In the Amalgam books, there was a brief appearance by two police detectives, Christine Montoya and Clark Bullock. Obviously the Montoya and Bullock names come from Batman/Gotham central, but the Clark and Christine have always bothered me as they have no Marvel connotations (which is the point of Amalgam, right?). Does anyone mind if I change Montoya's first name to Jean (as in Jean DeWolff) and introduce a Crispus Carter (an amalgam of Crispus Allen and Stan Carter) to briefly feature in Catsai? Because Amalgam *is* geek heaven, right?

Stan Carter being the Sin-Eater, correct? The guy who killed Jean DeWolff because God told him too? Heh, that'd actually be a pretty cool merge with Crispus Allen, who's lack of faith was examined in Gotham Central and later became host to the Spectre.

Geek away, geel away.
For my Speed Demon story, I'm thinking of merging Professor Zoom with Vengence. What a wacky coupling that would make.

Does Etrigan have any arch-nemesis sort that could maybe be thrown in with those two? Or maybe somebody to merge with Centurious?

Hey all-
Count me out for X-Patrol. Nothing's coming.
I'm thinking about doing something with Constantine instead though. Maybe merge him with Union Jack.
Joseph Constantine: Hellblazer...

Geel is a typo, most commonly found in the wilds of Afiroca. The only common Etrigan enemy I can think of is Morgan Lefay. Or whatever he last name is.

Her last name, actually, and it's Morgaine le Fay. There was also Klarion the Witch Boy and his werecat pet Teekl.
Hmmm, maybe Morgaine can merge with Lilith, and Klarion merge with Blackheart? Lilith le Fay and Klarion the Blackheart!

Not to be a pain as the new guy, but I already used Constantine in my Dr. Strangefate story.
In fact, for reference, I amalgamated the following:
Blade/Hellblazer Satana/Dr. Occult Cerebro/Despero/Danger Room Midnight Sons/Sentinels of Magic
I'd offer to change but I've already written the story. It's just waiting to be sent to an editor.

Be ironic if Hellblazer was a black sheep blue-blood. Fits even better when you consider Falsworth's issues with his brother and what Constantine did to his twin. Now that would be one messed up Baron Blood!

The Falsworth family is pretty interesting because of the legacy nature of them. I think this could be played up in an Amalgam storyline, perhaps with a link to some of DC's legacy characters, such as the Zatara line.

Oh, and while everyone's reading this thread... Dr. Strangefate and Catsai are both completed and ready for January's launch date. Considering Golightly and I only wanted at least six issues for the event as a whole, I think it's a safe time to make a logo and gatefold and start pimpin' this event out like there's no tomorrow.

Beside- John and Blade? Sure, cool idea, but I don't see Johnny-boy as a katanna wielding martial artist vs. the undead. No offense.

Eh. It worked for what I was doing. I don't think the amalgams are necessarily supposed to be chosen on basis of a perfect fit. I mean, Batman and Wolverine (or Iron Man and Green Lantern) aren't exactly natural fits in my eyes. In fact, I think the uniqueness that comes from mixing two unlikely characters might produce the best results. Why create a character that's just a shade different then the ones that already exist?
But, at any rate, I certainly don't care personally if the chars I amalgamated are used by others. I just wasn't sure what the policy was. As long as the result is entertaining, I don't see why it would really matter.
And, for what it's worth, Union Jack and John Constantine do sound like they could make for something interesting. I hope it comes together for you. Look forward to reading it.
Best, Alan Strauss
