Marvel Fantasy #6 by Ben Wolfert
THE GOOD: Ben manages to blend the elements of the Marvel Universe and the Final Fantasy universe with a surprising ease that would make somebody quite envious if they had attempted the same thing before. He brings fresh takes to characters we’re all very familiar with (Hawkeye and Hank being my favorites thus far). Cloak and Dagger’s introduction, backstory, and conclusion were so seamlessly put throughout the issue that you felt sad that they weren’t joining the gang at the end. Hopefully, whenever this Emissary shows up help will come from places they never expected. Kulan Gath was nicely described so that if I had never seen him before I would have had a very clear visual image of him. That definitely helped in this “Boss” fight issue so to speak.
THE BAD: In a lot of Ben’s descriptions he has “almost” right before a statement. Such as “he had an almost talon like hand” or “he had an almost devilish grin” or something to that effect. The almost isn’t really necessary and when you see a bunch of those in succession they kinda grate on you as you’re reading the story. Also, I felt that Kulan Gath was defeated a little bit too easy for my tastes. I guess, if this party had a heavy magic user it’d be more believable to me. As it stands though they really don’t have that going for them.
OVERALL: One of M2K’s gems IMO and an overall strong title. People always talk about doing different things with fanfic. Well, look no further than this title. Ben has taken two concepts, smashed them together, and is making it work

I'm surprised that more people don't read this title, to be honest, but I think I can understand why some may be a little skeptical. As some M2K readers and writers are seeing from his first issue of Sabretooth (a character in a series with broader appeal), Ben is quite the writer. Hopefully more people start to stand up and take notice of his stories!

The feeling is mutual Cory. No way should Ben be getting this lack of attention. I may get slain for saying this, but I really feel that Ben's Marvel Fantasy could be the next AGC for the fanfic world.
