Yes yes yes! Meriades wrote some of the best Spider-Man stories I've ever read at some other Marvel fanfic site (it can be found in the meriadesfiction link above) and that was with I believe a status quo Meriades hated. With no clones, no wife and kid, complete freedom to set things up however he wants, this potential has me very excited.

Goddamn, good thing I'm leaving my Ultimate Spidey series soon. Don't think I could handle this kind of competition.

Sorry, Dino, but I've already forgotten about your Ultimate whatever series.

See, even you've forgotten about it in the anticipation of Meriades sure-to-be Amazing/Spectacular/Sensational/Friendly-Neighborhood Ultimate Spider-Man.

Thanks, Steve. I remember your review of my AltMarvel Spider-Man run fondly (not least because it was the only one I ever got...)! You're right about the status quo with that series. Not only did I have to deal with an odd, convoluted plot with The Chameleon running around posing as a resurrected Norman Osborn, I was also completely against Peter remaining as Spider-Man whilst being a husband and father as I felt it completely went against his sense of responsibility. Now I've got the chance to write a Spidey series without any of the shackles.
Of course, being thoroughly perverse, I'll be spurning that opportunity and instead writing something a little bit... askew. The tone of the series will be classic 70s-era Spidey - oddball-villain-of-the-month mixed with soap opera sub-plots - but it'll also be a significant departure from the norm (after all, the traditional Spidey story has already been done numerous times in both comics and fanfic).
So, definitely Spider-Man, but as the promo says - All-New, All-Different...
