Yo' everybody. It's Frank, yet again channeling the other worldly personality of the Wordy Mouf, to give you a new review.
2/9/09- Gambit issue # 2(Volume 2)
First off, I loved Gambit's first scene, sneaking out of Bella Donna's room, Remy never did know when to leave well enough alone, and Ryan's always caught that perfectly, this is no exception. I've always said nobody in Fanfic writes a better Iceman then Cory, and I'd wage no one writes a better Remy then ol' Ryan 'ere.
Step two, Henri's attempts at straightening Remy out were a laugh, as usual when anyone tries to talk sense in to the ol' Ragin' Cajun, didn't do much good, and I doubt that Henri expected it to.
Three, Davis attempt at gettin' some Drugs from Bella, don't know what he and Leah are usin', but he obviously won't be usin' anymore anytime soon. Hopefully this plot twist will be given a little more attention now that Henri's discovered the track marks on Leah's arm, only time will tell.
Four, Bella's concern about little Jack having met her father was well done, a good plot device if not a little stereotypical, I mean how else do you end a war between two families or make it worse? You throw a child that's half both in the mix and see what happens. The war between the T'ieves and Assassins has been over quite some time, but rekindling it would be an interesting curve ball from Ryan if that's where he decided to go from here.
Five, the possible Revelations about Remy's true birth parents, was it really Jean Luc and his wife? Was Remy's first guardian after his birth the mysterious Mr. Sinister? All I know is that I'll be here to find out next issue, or however many issues down the road it happens to be revealed.
Good job with this one Ryan, I loved it, and you've got yourself the first 10/10 for the new year's worth of Word Of Mouf Reviews.
Solid story telling, good characterization, and good interaction amongst characters make this a damn decent read.
So until its revealed that Gambit's really the fourth brother of Havok, Cyclops, and X-treme, make mine M2K.
