An interesting opening chapter to a new series. I wouldn't have known that this series was in any way connected to something that had come before if not for the mention of Mys-Tech (a Marvel UK series, yes? Which I've never read, so I'm none the wiser, but I've heard of it at least). Hopefully this won't prove a handicap as the series progresses, but #1 was certainly accessible enough.
I liked the way this issue was put together. A very solid writing style, good pacing and structure. The main character seems like she could be interesting, although we obviously know very little about her from this short opening piece. The world she's been born into was well-described too, so it's maybe a shame the story didn't continue on for another 1000 words or so, especially for an opening issue (and especially again as half of the issue was taken up by the progress of that poor rat at the beginning, atmospheric though this initial scene was).
I'm looking forward to more from this series. My one reservation would be the title (and title character), as the name 'Tuck' just isn't appealing on any level. Maybe that's some connection to the old Mys-Tech series, I don't know, but it's a bit... odd. Otherwise, a good start.

I also gave this a quick read. I kinda wish the issue wasn't so short, though. Also, I've never heard of Mys-Tech outside a mention of something about it in the '90s, so as a hook into the series, it didn't quite work for me. Still, I'll stick around for #2 at the very least and give 'er a look.

Not to pile it on too much here, but I have to agree with both Meri and Hunter. The issue was good, but way too short. I was in fact tempted to e-mail the editors and ask if there had been some kind of HTML error that cut the text off mid-story, but I wasn't sure how that would come across.
I hope this recurring "complaint" actually comes across the way I intend it, which is more complimentary: I was enjoying the story a lot, both the style and the premise, and I wanted it to continue! I know there's a lot of validity to the principle of "leave them wanting more" but this went a bit too far in that direction. Like Hunter, I'll be back for #2, but if it's the same length as #1 and similarly devoid of any real action happenings, I'll be disappointed.

Hey guys - first let me say thank you for reading my addition to the M2K Universe and I appreciate your comments.
I had written this story in the form of chapters and the first chapter is initially a prelude to the actual story itself. The rest are longer and bit by bit flesh out things as they go. I know alot of people aren't too familiar with the Marvel UK and throughout the story little tidbits are dropped along the way but not everything within the first couple of issues -- gotta leave a little mystery.
But again thank you for your time in reading Tuck 2051 and I hope you enjoy the story as it develops. ;D
