LOL I've got a Black Cat mini-series on my mind. I think I'll cave in and prop it after I'm *finally* done with ASM 50

Not that I know of. But I think Eric left us with a nice setup Blade deserves some spotlight.

I agree. Blade has a real great history at M2K, especially thanks to Bowie Sessions' MIDNIGHT SONS maxi.

I've been going on an archive binge. Mostly the knights material (Spider-Man, Daredevil, Black Widow and Scarlet Spider). I would love to write a Scarlet Spider series.

No, he's still Ben Reilly.

Okay here's my ideas. This is not a pitch just my ideas that I've been thinking about over the last few days.
With this series, my goal is to focus mostly on the Ben Reilly persona and outline the individual issues that define both his enemies and himself. I plan to move the character away from being just Peter Parker lite. I want to showcase other villains, though the main villain is The Black Tarantula. While others villains are The Pride, The Raptor, and Goblins may appear later on. Although, there's no reason they can't show up in later tales. I want to bring in a bit of crime noir mixed with some sci-fi trappings. Something close to what Mark Waid is doing with the character of Daredevil. Though I confess, that I have only read the first 10 or so issues of his series. I also want to bring in other heroes that have either been mentioned or have yet to appear in the M2K universe.
Main Characters:
• Ben Reilly (28): The first successful clone of Peter Parker, Ben spent years on the road trying to forge a life out for himself. After becoming Spider-Man, Ben was killed by Norman Osborn. Now back from dead he works for Ezekiel Sims, a brilliant corporate mogul who has a fascination with spiders. He’s doing okay, and has been going on a series of women as of late, feeling that life is too short, but something is eating at him. Like someone is watching him, everyone starts to think he’s going crazy. He has become short tempered and moody. Julia and Sims insist that he see a psychologist in order to deal with his issues. • Julia Carpenter (33): The longtime superhero known as Arachne she now works as the supervisor of Ben Reilly. A single parent, she struggles dealing with parent while also being a hero. She has feelings for Ben, but she doesn't want to ruin the relationship that she does have with him.
• Oliver Osnick (20): He’s a brilliant young man who used to be a big fan of Doc Ock until he realized that Spider-Man is a hero. Oliver uses the tech that he designed at his local college to create the Steel Spider equipment to become a hero. After he is badly injured, Ezekiel Sims scoops him up to work for him. He helped design Ben’s new suit, though he would like to be out doing his superhero thing. Oliver knows that he can do more in the lab.
Supporting Characters
• Alice Reyes (56): Alice is an old reporter who has discovered many superheroes identities but has never revealed their secret identity. Alice has kept this fact to herself, knowing that the superheroes do for the world. In return, Alice has worked with many heroes as an informant, aiding them in several of their investigations. In the last year, however, she has quit the LA Times and has started her own news site. Wanting to focus on real news she has called her paper Vanguard. • Phil Urich (26): The nephew of Ben Urich, he is known as the good “Green Goblin”. He uses the Green Goblin equipment to become a hero. After he is badly injured by Black Tarantula, Elizabeth Bondi a former Stark engineer, decided to help him. She designed a more streamlined version dark costume with some green features. In contrast to the old Green Goblin costume he wore, Phil’s suit that is not meant to scare anyone. He runs into the Scarlet Spider while taking down a drug cartel. • Inspector Molly von Richthofen (31): While investigating a framing of a cop, Scarlet Spider meets with Inspector Molly von Richthofen. A good cop who is one of the best in her unit. She helps Ben uncover the truth and she becomes his contact on the police force. • Angela Del Toro (29): The younger niece of Hector Ayala (original White Tiger) and former FBI agent, Ben works with her often since she works with at The Sanctuary. A place for young runaways with powers to learn to use their powers properly. She is the current wielder of the mystical Jade Tiger Amulet. • Mary Kingston (21): The new secretary, a young and rather attractive woman who works for SimsCorp. She has a crush on Oliver.

Robert, you need to take the plunge and develop these ideas. The existence of Ben Reilly as a mainstay super-hero is one of the things that really shows M2K's unique divergence from the Marvel Universe proper. We need a Scarlet Spider title.
Just to let you know though, Angela Tel Toro is already a West Coast Avenger and I don't think she's FBI in M2K continuity.

Thanks Bryan. I didn't realized that Angela was already used. Oh well I can always alter that, she wasn't super important to my outline.

I had this weird thought of a Spider-Girl series I was think of doing at Marvel Omega, but I might do it here. It would focus on the Anya version of the hero. It's just an idea after I finish the Big Hero 6 story for the Holiday Special.

Thanks Bryan. I didn't realized that Angela was already used. Oh well I can always alter that, she wasn't super important to my outline. Or you could use Angela Del Toro! LOL we don't have an AWC writer just yet, so I imagine you could dib the character, you just have to familiarize yourself with her brief continuity here at M2K. It's only like 4 issues. I think alot of fanfic writers are afraid of researching/using other writer's continuity because it might be a hindrance/bitch to deal with. But I completely disagree! Part of the reason I love fanfic is the fact that I can build upon other writers' ideas. No matter how convoluted, we're all clever enough to build upon one another's love for the Marvel Universe. A major part of my Spider-Man and UXM props was based upon tightening up and building upon what has come before. That's where a great editor comes in. I still have the e-mail that Cory sent me those years ago, explaining *everything* that happened in X-Men continuity so I could make a great UXM prop. What a guy! I reference it to this very day. Don't be afraid to build on what's been done with Ben Reilly before, Rob. I've read all the Scarlet Spider stuff here at the site, so if you need some help with continuity, I would be happy to lend an ear. I know I'm not the only one. David Golightly has always made himself available to me if I needed a brainstorming session.
