Okay here's my ideas. This is not a pitch just my ideas that I've been thinking about over the last few days. With this series, my goal is to focus mostly on the Ben Reilly persona and outline the individual issues that define both his enemies and himself. I plan to move the character away from being just Peter Parker lite. I want to showcase other villains, though the main villain is The Black Tarantula. While others villains are The Pride, The Raptor, and Goblins may appear later on. Although, there's no reason they can't show up in later tales. I want to bring in a bit of crime noir mixed with some sci-fi trappings. Something close to what Mark Waid is doing with the character of Daredevil. Though I confess, that I have only read the first 10 or so issues of his series. I also want to bring in other heroes that have either been mentioned or have yet to appear in the M2K universe. Main Characters: • Ben Reilly (28): The first successful clone of Peter Parker, Ben spent years on the road trying to forge a life out for himself. After becoming Spider-Man, Ben was killed by Norman Osborn. Now back from dead he works for Ezekiel Sims, a brilliant corporate mogul who has a fascination with spiders. He’s doing okay, and has been going on a series of women as of late, feeling that life is too short, but something is eating at him. Like someone is watching him, everyone starts to think he’s going crazy. He has become short tempered and moody. Julia and Sims insist that he see a psychologist in order to deal with his issues. • Julia Carpenter (33): The longtime superhero known as Arachne she now works as the supervisor of Ben Reilly. A single parent, she struggles dealing with parent while also being a hero. She has feelings for Ben, but she doesn't want to ruin the relationship that she does have with him. • Oliver Osnick (20): He’s a brilliant young man who used to be a big fan of Doc Ock until he realized that Spider-Man is a hero. Oliver uses the tech that he designed at his local college to create the Steel Spider equipment to become a hero. After he is badly injured, Ezekiel Sims scoops him up to work for him. He helped design Ben’s new suit, though he would like to be out doing his superhero thing. Oliver knows that he can do more in the lab. Supporting Characters • Alice Reyes (56): Alice is an old reporter who has discovered many superheroes identities but has never revealed their secret identity. Alice has kept this fact to herself, knowing that the superheroes do for the world. In return, Alice has worked with many heroes as an informant, aiding them in several of their investigations. In the last year, however, she has quit the LA Times and has started her own news site. Wanting to focus on real news she has called her paper Vanguard. • Phil Urich (26): The nephew of Ben Urich, he is known as the good “Green Goblin”. He uses the Green Goblin equipment to become a hero. After he is badly injured by Black Tarantula, Elizabeth Bondi a former Stark engineer, decided to help him. She designed a more streamlined version dark costume with some green features. In contrast to the old Green Goblin costume he wore, Phil’s suit that is not meant to scare anyone. He runs into the Scarlet Spider while taking down a drug cartel. • Inspector Molly von Richthofen (31): While investigating a framing of a cop, Scarlet Spider meets with Inspector Molly von Richthofen. A good cop who is one of the best in her unit. She helps Ben uncover the truth and she becomes his contact on the police force. • Angela Del Toro (29): The younger niece of Hector Ayala (original White Tiger) and former FBI agent, Ben works with her often since she works with at The Sanctuary. A place for young runaways with powers to learn to use their powers properly. She is the current wielder of the mystical Jade Tiger Amulet. • Mary Kingston (21): The new secretary, a young and rather attractive woman who works for SimsCorp. She has a crush on Oliver. Would you use Morlun?

Would you use Morlun? Absolutely love your ideas man. Ollie is a sorely under used character. And Bryan is right. Don't ever let the continuity of m2K stop you from using a character. We're all here to fill in any gaps. I like the suggestion of Morlun. I think he's a blank slate here.

I agree. Blade has a real great history at M2K, especially thanks to Bowie Sessions' MIDNIGHT SONS maxi. Yea Blade has really been through the ringer. Anyone know how Bowie is doing lately? He's pretty good. He got married last May, is gainfully employed, got all his PTSD issues worked out thanks to years of therapy with the VA, is house hunting, living in Minnesota... his life has NEVER looked this bright! Super preoccupied doing costuming and conventions as a scene. Busting his ass on fitness. Started work on a book! But he does really miss this site.

I got some Black Cat ideas I want to work out. Since the Scarlet Spider isn't going to happen right now. Though I do think the current writer is taking Ben in an interesting direction. I would still want to do a Black Cat book. She such an interesting character and so much more than a Catwoman ripoff.

With all of the Spider-Gwen hype I'm seeing...do we need to get her a title at M2K?

I love the black take on her costume and that symbiote twist to it is just fun.

Robbi Rodriguez announced a Gwen vs symbiote story after Spider-Women called Gwenom. Wheels have been turning.
I actually plotted a couple alternate Spider-Man stories that featured Gwen and MJ getting bitten respectively.
Earth-17- In an attempt to rid himself of his spider-powers, Peter Parker injected himself with a serum that should have cleansed his DNA of the spider-mutation. Instead, it enhanced the mutation, turning Peter into a Man-Spider. Still intelligent, but warped and twisted, he kidnapped his girlfriend Gwen Stacy and rampaged through New York City. His rampage was finally stopped when he was knocked unconscious by Iron Man and fell from the top of the Chrysler building. In the aftermath of the ordeal, Gwen has begun to feel strange side effects from a bite she received from Peter…
Earth-9920- Mary-Jane Watson had never dreamed that the science class that seemed least offensive to her would change her life. Bitten by a strange genetically altered spider, she gained incredible abilities- enhanced strength, speed, agility, spinnerets in her wrists, and practically invisible hairs on her hands and feet that allow her to cling to walls! Fortunately, she has her best friend Theresa Parker, and her brother Peter to help her work out the kinks. Lucky for her too, because Reed Richards just returned to the Earth, the sole survivor of his fateful space mission, and greatly changed…

I am interested but I need to read everything that has gone on before to see what I working with. Nice. I have to ask, has the Netflix series sparked the desire? DD is one of my top 5 MARVEL characters ever. I always found it hard to go a different/ original way with DD since he is pretty much an American ninja in NY. Its either Hell's Kitchen or Japan/ the Hand. DDs stints of a wandering fighter in the 90s and his time in SF were always to be less of a series for DD with the 616. Its not that one cant come up with stories that cant say, "Wow" but something serious would have to happen to get out of the DD norm. I look forward to reading it
