I'd have to go back and reread the stories, but I remember that Hellspawn, a quasi-clone of Daredevil's, was back from the dead and had assumed the identity of Mike Murdock. So the writer had decided to take elements from two of the craziest Daredevil stories.
And that, to me, is what makes for the most fun with the character. This is a blind lawyer who dresses up as a devil to beat up criminals in Hell's Kitchen. Of course he's going to attempt to defend Namor and then fight him. Of course Spider-Man is going to accidentally reveal his secret identity, leading to the creation of a non-blind, identical twin brother nobody's heard about who is actually Daredevil, and when he dies it'll just be some stranger who becomes the new Daredevil. Of course some regular schmuck he beat up long ago became a living ghost, threw on a pair of death gloves and assembled henchmen who dress up like animals, and when he dies his mother turns her whole house into a deathtrap, except he didn't die because Baron Zemo gave him a artificial body and when that broke down he possessed Moonstone. Of course Daredevil had two enemies who control people using pheromone, one with purple skin and one looking like a baboon. Of course Daredevil dates a soap star who is also an assassin with fire powers and even she doesn't know it because split personality. Of course Daredevil can get involved in the Infinity War, fight a cosmic-created duplicate called Hellspawn and when it dies, dress up the corpse as Matt Murdock and create of identity of Jack Battlin.
Seriously, one could begin the next Daredevil story with Ringmaster trying to hypnotize New York City but of course it doesn't work and Daredevil, and after he beats the Circus of Crime uses the hypnodisk to make everybody forget all the previous stories and that would not be the craziest reset in Daredevil's history. In fact, you could say that happened off screen, start with a clean slate, no charge.
