A little delayed this month, but still packed full of incredible stories nonetheless. Make sure to stop by the message board to leave some feedback for our hardworking writers! Click the title to read! AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #51 - Four other-dimensional travelors with deep connections to Peter Parker have just popped into our reality, and they will surely rock Spider to the core! Written by JD Mathis & Tony Thornley! AVENGERS VS. X-MEN #1 - Two weeks after the horrific events on Genosha, political tensions are at their height. The Avengers are attempting to clean up some of the chaos, but an altercation with a certain group of mutants will make that a very difficult task! Written by Steve Crosby & Cory Wiegel! BLACK PANTHER #2 - A confrontation from the Man-Ape could bring harm to Wakanda from within, but its the forces without that T'Challa should really be worried about, as enemies begin to collect (even some that used to be friends). Written by Jake Hawkins! MAX 2000 #43 - Someone has hired a group of dangerous masked criminals to break a very specific person out of prison - Carnage! It's an all out brawl that could bring back a murderous villain. Written by JD Mathis! NEW MUTANTS #1 - They have been scattered since they were originally bound together under Xavier's guidance. Now, matured and full of chaotic experiences, they come together again to face new challenges. Written by Gavin McMahon! NEW WARRIORS #29 - Half the team has been captured, the other half has to deal with a newcomer and a new threat, and Franklin is still out there among the dimensions somewhere. In short, the New Warriors are a mess! Written by Tobias Christopher! PROJECT ARGENT #8 - The Dreamweaver strikes! The past issues have all been leading up to this massive confrontation, so don't miss out. Written by John Cheese! SIX GUNS #1 - A special case needs transported, and Flintlock is the one to do it. But is there a betrayal in the works? Find out in this awesome first issue of a new series. Written by John Cheese! VILLAINS FOR HIRE #19 - A search for warheads would be a tough job anywhere, but in Madripoor? Yeah, that elevates this job by a lot , especially when some Serpents come out to play. Written by John Cheese! YOUNG AVENGERS #7 - Interpersonal relationships, team bonding, and secret files. For a 'bottle episode' this one has it all. Written by Dan Dolan!

Wow I just read through my Max 2000 story and realized I missed some things that should have been fixed. 😂
Two issues down and a lot more to go before the night’s done.

Excellent work on Project Argent John. You have a knack for pulling me into characters and stories I had no idea I would enjoy Thanks for that. I firmly believe even the most underused and ignored characters have a hundred stories in them.

Excellent work on Project Argent John. You have a knack for pulling me into characters and stories I had no idea I would enjoy So starting out with Project Argent I will admit I had no idea who these characters were and had to go looking some of them up. I will admit it was a good story and John does have a knack for taking characters no ones thought about using and making them stand out. Part of me wants to throw names out there and see what he can come up with. I also like how he builds outward from one book to a new one as well as seen with the new series starring Flintlock we have that came from the last issue of Project Argent. From the last issue you can also tell something else is gonna show up soon and we’ll see what else he has in store for us. All in all I give it two thumbs up. 👍🏼 👍🏼

VILLAINS FOR HIRE #19 - A search for warheads would be a tough job anywhere, but in Madripoor? Yeah, that elevates this job by a lot , especially when some Serpents come out to play. Written by John Cheese!! Okay so another whacky adventure with everyone’s favorite villains for hire and this time not only do they get a wonderful trip the beautiful Madripoor but they get to play a game of tag with friendly Serpents. Oh wait Madripoor isn’t beautiful it’s a hell hole and that game of tag was a pretty nasty no hold type of fight. At first the way it was written when the Serpents were attacking it was reminding me of when the Aliens attack in the movies. Once again John tells another action packed story while also telling an interesting story. For a bunch of villains they tend to play well together and look after one another. With the start of the Serpent Society book I can see a rematch of a battle on the horizon between these two teams, or at least I hope so. Over all I give it two thumbs up 👍🏼 👍🏼 for a good easy to follow story and some nice action.

Thanks for the review, as someone who was actually playing tag (or surveying) with (not that) friendly serpents yesterday I think I can emphasise with my guys. I'm also glad that the Alien and Aliens homages I slipped in there were noticed. As for the possibility of a rematch, Dan hasn't contacted me yet about it, but I'm sure I'd be up for it. The reason this team works well together is down to having the members who caused all the friction in the inital lineup removed. We can give pregnant Lodestone and the 'fake' Mauler a pass since they had various stresses on them, Crossfire on the other hand... I would also like to apologise to everyone expecting a review yesterday, but a whole day catching, measuring and sexing adders and grass snakes left me bushed. I'll see if I can get said reviews up either today or tomorrow (BST)

How’s everyone who’s had the chance to read Black Panther feeling about it so far? Wanted to hear people’s thoughts before the story picks up the pace dramatically

And after what seems like an age I'm back home ready to type up some reviews after three days surveying snake populations for work. So without further adieu lets strike and see weather this snake nest of an April release is all groovy grass snakes or just a load of grumpy adders... _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Amazing Spider Man #51 - Perhaps its me being grumpy but I'm not a fan of these 'alternate Spidermen' and while some characters I don't like have grown on me through M2K/DC 2000, I'm not sure Miles Morales and Spider Gwen will be among them. Fortunately my dislike for them didn't impact too much on my enjoyment too much as the authors weave an interesting tale featuring the famous wall crawler. With a MAX title to support the release it will be interesting to see how it develops. Fortunately Dark Willow er I mean Electro was wrong when she stated she was 'Bored Now', this title continues to charm. Rating - 8.5/10 (Groovy Grass Snake) Avengers vs X-Men #1 - I ducked this event with Marvel Comics so I didn't know what I was walking into when I began reading Steve Crosby & Cory Wiegel's combined efforts. I was most surprised and revealed to see the Fallen Angels down in the muck regarding this title, even if things went sideways for the mutant security team from then on. I'm surprised that Multiple Man was the big target drawing the Avengers and X-Men back to the Genosha, but then I've seen stranger reasons to start and event arc. All in all things look to be getting significantly frosty in the M2K verse, which of course makes great reading for us. Rating - 9.5/10 (Groovy Grass Snake) Black Panther #2 - The White Wolf's mechanisations continue as Black Panther fights the obvious rival right in front of him in the guise of the Man Ape. In all honesty it feels very much like Hunter's made a devil's pact. All in all Jake Hawkins is working over time with the world building and that mostly good (although since I haven't seen the Black Panther film there are some things I'm a little unfamiliar with) and well thought out. In addition I've been waiting for M'Butu of Niganda to pay, I mean he already did when Crossfire robbed him, but it's high time he saw justice, something the writer continues to give this series and set of characters. Rating - 9/10 (Groovy Grass Snake) MAX 2000 #43 - While this title supposedly focuses on Carnage, its the detective element Scorpion brings to the title that drew focus for me. The fight scenes were well thought out and the mysterious Slate was defiantly an attraction. I do wonder what impact all the events featured here will have on the Amazing Spider-Man story JD Mathis & Tony Thornley are carving out and whose side Carnage will take (probably his own if I know him). As a one of the story works well, but in the larger frame it may be hiding crucial details. Only time will tell (I hope) Rating - 8.5/10 (Groovy Grass Snake) New Mutants #1 - First issues, be it of a new series or under a new writers penman ship can make or break said series. Gavin McMahon's inaugural New Mutants issues doesn't fail to deliver action with the rising of the Demon Bear among others. I did hope to learn something more about the characters since I do find myself a little rusty with all the X-Characters, but there is always time to expand on the backstories once the ball is well and truly rolling. It's already turning, hopefully it will gather speed to become the unstoppable juggernaut we want it to be in the near future. Rating - 8.5/10 (Groovy Grass Snake) New Warriors #29 - Speaking of New titles, lets move onto the New Warriors by Tobias Christopher. Honestly I don't know which of the two teams is in a bigger predicament, although I'd wager that someone somewhere is doomed. This feels particular likely, especially with the reveal that Valeria wiped out half the worlds heroes, the fact she's being held by the Doom Twins makes me suspect that it's no coincidence and that we'll have a cause and effect scenario. And what is certainly cause and effect is the writers continuing penmanship of this title and its continuing degree of quality. Rating - 8.5/10 (Groovy Grass Snake) Young Avengers #7 - So I never got invited to play spin the bottle, a side effect of having no friends, and while I expect I didn't miss anything life changing, Dan Dolan uses the game as a clever way to reveal more of the characters back stories in a unique way. In addition we get an interesting reveal near the end of the tale which was very unexpected, as well as a little more information on the mysterious events occurring in the Freezer. Here's hoping that Dan doesn't leave us out in the cold for too long as we wait for a new issue. Rating - 9/10 (Groovy Grass Snake)

Only time will tell (I hope) Rating - 8.5/10 (Groovy Grass Snake) I’m sorry you’re not liking Miles and Gwen at the moment and hope maybe they will grow on you in time. For the time being there stay in this universe will be for a limited time unless things change between now and then. Like if someone wanted to do something with them they could probably stay other wise they’ll be returning home. I’m glad you’re liking the tale we are weaving and hope you continue to enjoy it as we use this year to take some great tales in the spiderverse. I’m glad someone caught that Dark Willow part. 😂. I have this Dark Willow pop figure that sits on my desk and as I was writing her I could picture in my mind that when she used her powers these blue lines of electricity started creeping over her face. Plus she’s like 19 so you know she gets bored easy. Now onto the next title. Carnage will feature in some upcoming issues of ASM but in a different way then some may expect. The detective element of Mac Gargan is gonna play heavily later on as the mystery of Osborns change is just something he can not let go of and sets out to solve the mystery. Slate is a new character here at M2K but appears in the pages of Marvels Scarlet Spider series. I’ll be exploring his past as well as telling some more tales that will tie into our ASM run in the Max 2000 anthology. Keep reading and all will be revealed. 😊

I will be reviewing some series now that I'm back from Croatia! There was a lot of action in this series, primarily because I wanted to set up the premise, antagonists and themes whilst I got to grips with who these characters are in relation to not only their comics history, but also their M2K histories. I do believe I've understood those character elements now to bring it all together in New Mutants #2!
