Elongated Man is superior to Plastic Man in every way, shape or form. Also Sue Dibny remains alive and they are the greatest couple ever. This. All day, every day.

Yeah, that would make a lot of sense. I'd love to see what a Spider-Man driven Avengers squad would look like. Aaaaand just because I accidentally landed on the first page and saw this comment I now must envision it, lol: Spider-Man Human Torch Julia Carpenter (So underused and I just adore her) Jessica Jones Luke Cage Doc Samson Betty Brant as Captain Universe Iceman

I was thinking Halo, but Fire would be a decent choice.
and replacing Phantom Girl with Dr. Light give you a second science person for the team.
So, all good choices.

Dr. Light and Fire's powers are probably too similar.

My newest brainstorm:
The Mar-vel family!
Captain Marvel ( all three of them)
Ms. Marvel
Marvel boy
Heck, give me five minutes and I'll find a way to include Hoppy the Mar-vel bunny!

True and Quasar originally went by 'Marvel man' as tribute to his predecessor, so I could then bring the various Quasars into the 'Mar-vel family'!
This gets better by the minute!

Here's an Avengers roster based directly on what I think of as the "classic" Justice League: Superman= Captain Marvel: Both have an alien connection in their origin and in general story content as well as similar power sets.Batman= Black Widow: Forget Moon Knight I'd say Natasha is Bruce's rival in Marvel. Consistently portrayed as the single greatest hand to hand combatant in the MU, better spy than Fury as good a leader as Cap...Wonder Woman= Captain America: May be less powerful than Diana but Steve has the world war background, the stranger in a strange land vibe and the inspiring presence/personality.The Flash= Spider-Man: Not a speedster I know but in every other respect I think Spidey is the right fit personality, trickster persona, scientists, etc.Green Lantern= Nova: Intergalactic space cop with energy powers? Check. Aquaman= Namor: Nuff said.Martian Man-Hunter= Vision I: I'm referring to the original GA Aarkus version here. Similar powers, origin and spooky first impression lol.Green Arrow= HawkeyeBlack Canary= Mockingbird: Do I need to explain? lol Hawkman= Red Raven: I thought about using Moon Knight here but a modern version of Red Raven would be so much more appropriate.Zatanna= Jennifer Kale: I know you'd think it'd be Wanda but their similarities stop at female magic user. Jennifer is more fun loving like Z and like her doesn't have all that angst about her powers or where they come from.I'm working on a JLA lineup using the reverse formula

Superman versus Captain Marvel would be an interesting conflict.
That makes me think of a fight between the Superman family of characters and the Mar-Vell family of characters (Mar-Vell, Genis, Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan, Quasar, Phyla). Although, maybe the Shazam set would be a better match?
A "family" team interests me, too. Not FF. Something along the lines of similarly themed characters coming together. All of the characters that wear Superman's shield, or have Stark armor.

It's all about families of superheroes, ironically ending in a fight between the Superman family and the family of the DC Captain Marvel

All of the characters that wear Superman's shield.
*ahem*
Supergirl would like to point out that it's the 'House of El' shield, not the Superman shield.
Otherwise, she supports this premise.
That is all.
*nods*
