FAIRCHILD: It was the DC/Wildstorm version. The 2011 version did cameos of Mon*Star and Makko from Tigersharks, which hinted that we might get to see the Silverhawks in Season 2, but that didn't happen.

Because like Young Justice, the toy sales just weren't there to keep the show going. Cartoon Network was using both shows to push a toyline, the only problem is, the toys were inferior, especially compared to what we had in 80's Thundercats toyline.
It's like the original Jem cartoon. Had they not botched the toyline (come on, Hasbro, you're making a toyline to compete with Barbie with dolls that are almost twice as big?) the show would have gotten a fifth season and a movie.

It wasn't the toy sales, it was CN's moving the show around that did it. It did good on Fridays, then they moved it to Saturday mornings, and what was worse was when the put it on Sunday at 5:30 AM. Remember what happened to the rest of Beware The Batman? It had as good run, but if they added Joker, Riddler, Poison Ivy, and the other popular Batman villains with the ones they had on the show it would have been popular.
As for Jem, I liked how they ended the series, but a movie wouldn't happen after Transformers and My Little Pony flopped in theaters. Now, we're getting more toys that are being turned into garbage films; Battleship, Jem and the Holograms, Bratz, Transformers 2-5, Pixels (yeah, but it's a Adam Sandler ripoff of Ghostbusters fighting evil versions of classic video game characters.)
There have been also been horrid video game movies, all of them live action. The only good ones are Wreck-It-Ralph, The Angry Birds Movie, Final Fantasy: Advent Children, The Two animated Resident Evil movies, and of course Tron 1-2.

With every new issue of 'FutureQuest' my urge to write hanna-barbary fanfic grows! Such a good comic!
Along with the Herculoids, Impossibles and Galaxy Trio, I have this idea for a Peter Potomus where it focuses more on the time travel adventure elements and less on the slapstick.
and claypot, you left Mortal Kombat off your video game movie list. It's a classic!

I want to continue writing stories over at the World Without Heroes imprint at Altered Visions. Such a great set of titles there!

....Dave, let's do it. What a great Anthology - who replaced Captain America? Fantastic Four? Dr Doom?

Today at work, they were showing Casper, which got me to thinking about the Simpsons gag about Casper being the ghost of Richie Rich, which started getting the gears turning for a story in the vein of Afterlife With Archie and Chillings Tales of Sabrina, with a darker take on the characters of the Harvey Universe characters. I kind of want to try that story now, which would fold in Hot Stuff and Wendy the Witch as well.

....Dave, let's do it. What a great Anthology - who replaced Captain America? Fantastic Four? Dr Doom? CW and I wrote up a short pitch for Cap. A SHIELD agent was going to be permitted to take up the shield and to mimic Cap. To emulate the serum he would be injected with nanobots.

I like the Harvey idea, and I remember that they did a reboot as a mini a few years ago with Casper, Wendy, and Hot Stuff joining forces in a modern version of the comics. I didn't like Casper Scare School, due to the fact that it didn't have the feel of the animated series that was based on the film, and that series was more of a Tiny Toons/Animaniacs show with jokes and breaking the fourth wall. If I did a modern Casper project for 2017, I would have Richie Rich, Wendy, Hot Stuff, and Little Dot in the same universe with a modern version. As for Casper, he would be trying to get ghosts not to be as scary as they were in the cartoons, and Kat Harvey from the movie and the animated series will be the only one who can see Casper and other supernatural beings.

Loved the Harvey characters as a kid! Especially loved when a bunch of them would team up. Had one when where Casper, Spooky and Hot Stuff tried to join the boy scouts.
Be actually pretty cool to create a 'LoEG' out of Richie Rich, Casper, Wendy and Hot Stuff. Sounds like a line up for a hero team: a billionaire teams up with a ghost, a witch and a devil.
Surprised with all this building a Franchise Universe going on that someone hasn't tried to bring them back in comics or movies.

It might be because different studios have the rights to the characters. I know Universal had the Casper rights last, and whoever's doing the Netflix Richie Rich series (either Viacom or WB) has the rights to him currently. It probably wouldn't take too much effort for IDW or Boom to get ahold of the rights, though.

Remember in the Casper movie that Ray from the Ghostbusters made a cameo in the movie? I know they had to ask Sony's permission to use the Ghostbusters rights for that one scene, and also with The Cryptkeeper since Universal made two Tales from the Crypt films from Time Warner. I didn't care much for the Richie Rich movie or the DTV film, but I did like the original cartoon and the one that aired in the late 90's after the movie. They also did a DTV Baby Huey Easter movie with the original voice actor and a guy in a animatronic Baby Huey outfit that would make the Five Nights At Freddy's characters crap themselves.

Ha. I think your idea is sufficiently different, actually Crute.
Also, I am almost 100% sure they established that this Groot is in fact different to Giant Monster Tree and former member of Howling Commandos (first go around) member Groot.
'Cause, you know, everyone on Tree Planet (was it Planet X? Empire X?) is called Groot.

Came home from a local con with a big stack of cheap old comics and now have a strong urge to write a WW2 adventure or some sword and sorcery tale.
Need to connect with a DC site, as I'd especially love to write the haunted tank.
Also got some marvel horror/monster comics for 'research' for Ghost Rider.
