An excellent batch of issues this update but as always with me there is a question (you knew it was coming, admit it ;D)
In Iron Man, he goes to see Reed Richards but is taken away for a meeting with Iron Lad. They go to the top of the Bugle building, relocating from the Fantastic Four's headquarters.
but isn't the FF's headquarters in Pittsburgh? or have they moved back to New York now? because if not that's hell of a flight just to get a little distance between Reed and Iron Lad.
Although, Iron Man moving from a heavily defended FF base, to a building full of innocent civilains to deal with an unknown, possible, threat could show that his brain injury is effecting more than he realises.

This also leads me to wonder when someone will get around to wrapping up Bruss' FF run...any takers?

As the one who edited this issue, I can answer this one. After the next issue of Fantastic Four (which is currently being plotted), the FF go back to New York. Fret not, for we're not hitting the reset button with the title, but we will be sending the FF back to New York for anyone else to pick up on the title with general ease.
Because of this, I let the FF/location thing slide, and figured we could simply say this issue takes place after the story in FF is wrapped up. Of course, in hindsight, I probably should have put an Editor's Note on the issue saying just that...

My dream FF plot for the next issue of Fantastic Four.
Reed has accepted the job as Mayor/Viceroy but becomes concerned when the city is sealed off by elements in the US Government, who put Reed in charge feeling that the public would accept the cutting off of the city with a famous super-hero in charge.
The Fantastic Four attempt to break out but come under attack by soldiers clad in armour made from the future tech. The team has to fall back and in the battle Fours Tower is destroyed.
Reed sadly decides the only way to free the city is to reverse the effects of the Vioxx ship. Fighting their way inside, the other members of the team cover Reed as he reprograms the ship. The effects are near instant, the city is transformed back to what it was before the Vioxx arrived, the control systems destroyed forever.
The team sit in the damaged but still intact Club 4.
"So stretch what we gonna do now," Ben said as he poured himself a beer from his specially modified pump "I suppose we could all bunk down in the stock room."
"I think we should rebuild," Sue smiled as she bounced Victoria on her knee.
"That's a great idea darling," Reed replied with a huge grin spreading across his face "but what would you think of the Baxter Building."
Not great I know but its what I'd love to see.

You've never written for M2K before as far as I know, Gary. Why don't you write this wrap up issue yourself if you've got the idea and you'd love to see it happen? I haven't talked this over thoroughly with Daniel and Dave yet, but I'm sure they'll be cool with it. Maybe it could even lead to more work...?
Let us know!

New editors: gotta give 'em hell so they don't get complacent.
Reese and Ingram aren't credited as writers in the announcement. This makes Inuit babies cry. Don't ask me why; they're an odd bunch.
Oh, and the Excaliber gatefold is saying some bastard named David wrote this second run for the title which would be okay, but it's this Daniel chap whose name is given in the issues themselves.

Not sure where to put this but why not just have the FF leave a future tech based Pittsburgh instead of reverted it back to its original form? I think it makes for a much more interesting setting for stories using the tech based chars.

I actually think this is a good idea. The whole future tech based Pittsburgh thing sounds like a cool idea.

What reason would the FF have to leave Pittsburgh if the city is bristling with alien technology?
For one thing, Reed would want to stay around just to examine the technology and the rest of the team would end up staying to take out the badguys, to whom the alien technology would be a great attraction. Not to mention their businesses in the city.
With my idea the alien technology wouldn't be gone, just permanently transformed. Whose to say a few years down the line a mega genius couldn't work out a new control device and sieze the city for their own.
It'd work better in my opinion if the person who finishes off this Fantastic Four story can find a good reason for them to leave, rather than just the team upping to New York on a whim.

Well, my original plot (which I was putting together in case I ever found a scripter willing to work it) basically went like this:
The alien technology goes haywire and starts going freaky deeky on the city, likely due to some throw away tech villain who's trying to gain control of the city. It's possibly Reed's fault, maybe. The FF defeat the villain and in response, the U.S. government decides that they still don't know enough about the city, evacuate everyone (including the FF), and put up the city's defenses (a giant forcefield). Reed wants to stay, but after finding out that it was all sort of his fault, the U.S. politely (or not so politely) blow him off and send him and the FF packing back to New York.
Whoever the next writer is can find a way to have the FF revisit this city if they want, or completely ignore its conception and let someone else explore it. It'd be up to them.

Why not just leave the FF in Pittsburgh and let the next writer deal with it however they want? Theres no big reason to move them to NY, the city most over populated with superheroes. Let them stay where they are until the new writer (whoever that may be) decides to move them.

I do like the idea of an advanced Pittsburgh, especially since I'm from there. However, I think that the city being destroyed/reverted is the only way Reed would leave, as was pointed out above.
It would be nice if the city could remain as it is, however...lots of plot there.

I don't see why he/they have to leave. NY doesn't need anymore superheroes, its ridiculous how many are stuffed into the city at MU. Plus it offers a bit of a challenge to the next writer to work with the situation as he/she wishes. Once a new writer is signed on, then the whole pittsburgh thing can be adressed.
