Steelworks: Want to like this but it is waist deep in exposition and Superfamily lore, with very little story or anything that sets Steel apart from 'What if Tony Stark was part of the super family...?' Just isn't clicking.
Alpha Flight: confirming my hottake that there hasn't been a good Alpha Flight run since John Byrne. Doesn't help that the current X status quo is a mess.

The new Birds of Prey was a pleasant surprise, as I had really low expectations and it was solid writing and some really nice, old school feeling art.
So impressed that the current Doom Patrol comic is trying to make sense of the team's history that I'm not mad they stole a couple of my ideas. To even things out, I'm going to steal a couple ideas from them. Seems only fair.

Unstoppable Doom Patrol: stop stealing my ideas DC!!! Otherwise, great series.
Sensational She-Hulk: I give up. There was no reason to restart this series when nothing changed. I can't put up with this mess anymore.
Immortal Thor: hate moody, dreamy Loki, but the rest is brilliant.
Avengers Inc.: great stuff. Love that Al Ewing is working is magic on the Wasp.

One thing I plan to do is do my own comic book review YT series on classic comics outside of Marvel and DC. Maybe starting off with the EC Comics line of horror, crime, and sci-fi.

Uncanny Spider-Man: Nightcrawler as Spider-Man did work. And after reading the first two issues, I just wish the Spider-Man supporting cast would get better roles in the Fall of X storyline. Maybe have the Spider-Family help the X-Men after what they did the MJ's aunt. Plus, I still want Peter to get even with the Beyond Corperation for with they did to Ben and Ashley, plus the fate of the Slingers wasn't resolved like certain other Marvel plotholes.
Uncanny Avengers: I like this version, but too bad it's a limited series tie-in.
Mortal Kombat: Onslaught: Meh, cheap plug for mobile game. Hard skip.

Alpha Flight: should be happy that marvel is trying to build the team up, but lord is this bad. Nobody has a personality, all the X-title info dumps take up most of the story and I saw the 'big reveal' in #3 coming a mile away and lord it's dumb. It's a mess.
Giant Robot Hellboy: as fun and goofy as it sounds.
Scarlet Witch: almost a really good comic.

Superman 78: The metal curtain: Not a great title, but so cool that the movie Superman is finally getting comic stories!
Exterminators: So much fun, and so many moments where you wonder how the X-office okayed this mini.

Got a big pile of 90's Valiant comics in an online auction. Here are my impressions:
Ninjak: Fun when it leans into the over the top action movie tropes, but tends to treat itself way too seriously.
X-O: manawar: weird idea mashing Conan and Iron man together, and doesn't fully work, but enough cool action set pieces and ideas to work.
Shadow man: The stand alone stories of Jack just prowling the streets of New Orleans are great, but the bigger arcs are a mess that don't seem to work.
Eternal Warrior: cool idea, but nothing works. Nobody seems to know what to do with Gilad past 'he's Highlander' and it's just very blah.
More opinions to follow, if any one is listening, as I work my way through the pile.

Some more:
Bloodshot: like the character and some of the action scenes, but he seems to have almost no supporting cast or purpose. Interesting, but not living up to his potential.
Magnus: love the old version of this character, and this one is interesting, but like most Valiant titles, the focus on big story arcs and events doesn't seem to leave it the time to flesh things out.
Secret Weapons: liked the first team or teen Harbingers. The government group in special armor ( valiant loves special armor) have potential, but I only have a couple issues of them and they tend to just be used as Bloodshot's sidekicks.

X-ME ORIGINS: BLUE: I have to say that is one mixed bag for Nightcrawler's origin. I know Mystique is Kurt's mother, but after reading the book I found it was an okay change from what would have been originally done since certain real-world events couldn't make it happen before for Chris Claremount to make it happen.
I started to read the first few parts of the Gang War crossover, and it's about time Spider-Man had a big crossover since Maximum Carnage. But wish they plan something with Avengers and X-Men to tie in.

Immortal Thor: Really solid first three issues. Really excited to see where Al Ewing is going with this and wondering if he'll hang around as long as he did on Hulk.
Captain Marvel: wanted to like this, but bits of the story don't really work and the new sidekick is just another Darcy from the MCU clone. Marvel does love those lately. New bad guy looks cool, but the rest doesn't work for me.
Scarlet Witch: wanted to like this more than I did. Did some nice things with Wanda, but the rest is a mess. Story arcs feel rushed and pay offs are unsatisfying. And MU Darcy is no Kat Danning.

Avengers Inc: So good. Really nice that along with reminding us that Wasp is a cool, competent character, but using MU history and writing solid mysteries.
Outsiders: Fun to see the Bat side characters getting to do something, and I do love a good Planetary rip-off ( and have written a couple), but not sure if this will work with how heavy handed it is.
Speed force: Not loving the art, but taking a couple members of the Flash family and giving them a decent Power man/ Iron Fist vibe.

Robert Kirkman's relaunch of the Hasboro-verse has been interesting.
He seems to want to start at day one with both GI Joe and Transformers and trying some new ideas.

Bat-man: First Knight: Holy crap is this good! Love the conceit of this being all set in 1939 and using only what was available in that first issue, but there's also a solid story and some beautiful art. Captures the pulpy vibe of early GA comics.

Just started up Invincible again, having never finished reading more than half the series previously. Such a good book!
