Well, everyone knows time travel turns you gay. That's just science. Love that Bobby was like, "Maybe I'm bi?" and Jean's like, "No, you're gay, my mind powers know," and Bobby's like, "Yeah, I know, right? Warren's so hawt lolerballz." Gotta admire Bendis taking something as nuanced and deep as sexuality and making it Saturday morning cartoon simple with no follow-up planned whatsoever. May have to show him how it's done soon... No matter how much "fanbros" try to make it a negative I have long been a fan of diversity in comics so I would love to see that, that being said I also felt like that whole reveal was just so sloppy and badly done. Especially after the joke they allowed Northstar to be in Uncanny by basically being Bobby's stalker that "Straight" Bobby pitied. Though that was mostly that hack Chuck Austen's fault. It could have been done and done well. Frankly though it was less overt, Johnny's coming out was far better handled. Very subtle and no big "reveal" just 'oh he's been sleeping with Daken but that's not what's important right now' kind of thing, lol

So could I, and it'd probably make more sense than how Marvel played it. "Oh, by the way, you're gay now." It should not have been Jean "I've been shown psychically manipulating my friends" Grey who outed him as well. Marvel will ALWAYS have an out now to un-out him.

There is pretty much nothing about Bendis' X-men stuff that does not scream 'bad idea' and 'I really don't know what I'm doing'."
and instead of fixing it, marvel keep the time lost five around and keep making it worse.

They just need to send Teen Jean back to the past. She’s a pain.

They needed to send them all back. This should have been a event story not the new status quo. And it just get worse the longer it drags on.

When I wrote Iceman for Marvel Anthology years ago (before the site rebooted) my idea for Bobby being outed as bi was that he'd come out in college when he was away from the X-Men for several years. He ended up falling for a guy who was dying of cancer, and when Bobby had to watch someone he loved die, it was so painful he just forced himself back into the closet until the current day when it started messing with his mental state/powers to the point where his powers were going off at random times and wouldn't work at all when he needed them. And Opal was also in the mix, having become a stalker that I was writing as having been played by Bobby Lee from Mad TV.

Actually true story, and I'll understand if you don't believe me as after every big comic development some fanboy decries "I thought of it first!" lol, WAAAAAY before he came out in comics I was shopping around an X-Factor series were Bobby heads up a team of mutant "celebrities" (Longshot, Chamber, Lila Cheney, Outlaw, Northstar and Aurora, etc.) who function as a reality show as much as a super team, followed around by Doop. Superficially to promote human/mutant relations by showcasing the day to day lives of mutants but really for fame and glory. Well to make a long story short, too late, I was going to have Bobby flirt with Aurora in front of the cameras and then end the issue with him in bed with *someone*, describe the white star emblazoned black spandex thrown to the floor and only then do the prose equivalent of a slow pan up to reveal it was Jean-Paul not Jeanne-Marie he was in bed with. Having one of the central conflicts be his closeted nature and the fact that he was adamant on remaining so in order to portray himself as a "leading man" type. Then Marvel ruined it for me by having him go gay for real robbing me of the shock value!!! lol How DARE THEY?!?!?

I like to see a reboot of the M2K Iceman series, and maybe get a Spider Friends revival within the title.

I’m a bit less fussed on Peter but in the right hands he can be well handled, so I’d be so down for reading an Amazing Friends series.

Maybe something can be done later on with the trio getting together for an adventure but right now Peters gonna have his hands full with daily duties as a husband, boss, hero, and soon mentor.

What’s going on with the X-men in m2k anyway. As I wanted to feature storm in little video calls with T’Challa in Black Panther as well as use some noteworthy x villains in my later arcs? Can anyone fill me in

Before Bendis decided to reveal that Iceman was gay (I don't think it was ever apart of his plan until the very end), Young Iceman seemed to be observing that Present Iceman was the most normal of the original five and grew but didn't quite "change" who he was. I thought that was fun commentary. The "little brother" of the group went to college, dated around casually, was with Shadowcat, and became pretty powerful while everyone else was killed, became a terrorist, or lost their mind with the thought of revenge while evolving more and more into a physical "monster." I mean, Bobby was depicted as the most socially capable and emotionally honest member of the team, and became a voice of reason to boot, and then... we're suddenly supposed to believe that he was this deeply closeted tortured gay man in his early thirties?
It's not that bisexual or gay Bobby couldn't have worked. It's just that there was no logical transition from the way Mike Carey, Jason Aaron, and Marjorie Liu (and even Bendis initially) wrote him and how Bendis ultimately spun him two issues before leaving the series. Discovery of sexual identity should be written as a journey, not a trigger that's pulled or a hat that's put on.

I think gay Bobby can work. The way it was done was blunt and sudden. And Jean outing him was ick.
I would have bought Hank or Warren a little better though, exactly for what you said about Bobby
