I have this idea to see if any character from Marvel/DC you would revive and reboot for your fanfics. Who would it be?
Here's mine:
CIRCUIT BREAKER: The character was meant to be part of the Transformers universe when they were with Marvel. But now that the Transformers are now in IDW, meaning Circuit Breaker could get a reboot in M2K. I wanted to bring Josie into my Iron Patriot series and start her off as a villain turned hero. Her origin would be different from her Transformers one, as I would make her creation more alien based. A techo-organic symbiote, like Cyborg when fused with the Mother Box. She would start out as a intern for Tony Stark as she would find the alien tech, that would bond with her by accident turning her into a living weapon. Like I said, she would start out as a villain then turn to the side of heroes down the line. If I do Iron Patriot, this new take on Josie would fit in.
VULTURE (RED VERSION): I kind of liked this new take on the Vulture, too bad The Punisher killed him just for the original's sake. He was a more terrifying villain who could be rebooted in M2K, but make him more of a mutant with the straits of a vulture. He would be a great villain for the X-Men, as Spidey as his own.

I'll play. I don't have any planned story, just an idea and a list.
Marvel: It, the living Colossus. Guy who works in Hollywood can project his mind into a giant stone statue. In his short run, he only fought other monsters, but I'd love to have him running around in the big city fighting super villains as well.
DC: Elongagated man: Identity Crisis destroyed this character and he and his wife Sue need to come back without all that crappy baggage. I'd wipe away the last couple decades and return them to a happy couple that solve mysteries, fight the occasional super villain and deal with that they are from very different worlds and have to work to fit in to each others families, his small town that think Ralph's always been weird and her rich, up scale that don't approve of her choice in men. The mysteries might get dark, and need to be treated seriously, but the Digby's would never be grim and gritty.

Definitely Hardware. My discovery of how awesome he is has got me wanting to really shine a spotlight on him.

Peacemaker.
Honestly, I can't think of a character who got more screwed over by Watchmen than him. When DC added him to their canon, they decided he should out-crazy the Comedian, and just got worse from there.
IMO, he ought to be an international Punisher. Hunting down murderers and criminals who might have escaped justice. A vicious IRA operative might have escaped justice under the Good Friday Agreement, but not from Peacemaker! Etc, etc.

The Charlton heroes all got treated pretty bad, post-watchmen. Which is a shame, as they are all great characters. They'd all be on my list.
But yeah, Peacemaker could have been DC's Captain America, instead he became just another crazy guy with guns.

I don't think Captain America was ever really in his cards. He started working for the United Nations, IIRC.
But I like the idea of a war criminal Punisher, a guy who goes after villains with serious blood on their hands, and not cannon fodder on the street

I'm not a grim and gritty guy, so would think more Cap, than Frank. One thing I liked in the very few old Charlton issues I've tracked down is Peacemaker operated mostly outside the USA. Which I thought was a neat difference. It's funny, as Peacemaker is never a character I thought about much, but now I'm find myself going 'It'd be cool if..."

I always wanted to write Sun Wukong, problem is there’s very few people who could stand up against him and his powers.

I wanted to do a teen team book for M2K with Young Allies. One of the characters I want to revive is the Maddie Franklin Spider-Woman, and make her unlike the other Spider people. I loose the spider legs and change her name somehow. One idea I had was make her friends with Silk, then make her a temp villain.
I would even change Lili Hollister from not being Menace, but into a rival rich brat who would get redemption down the road.

He was then put on a bus that came back in Realm Wars and then got a ticket to ‘Deadsville’.

Along with a Peacemaker story, I now what to come up with an Asian hero team that features some version of the Monkey King. I need to stop talking to you guys. Every time I do, my wish gets longer by another 4 characters. Did you ever read the Dragon lines minis from Epic comics?

Just one more to add to my list. Why not roll them into one story Peacemaker and Monkey King (team optional) targeting the same target leading to a three way conflict. Could be a mini, one I’m happy to help concoct and write

Adding to my list:
Love to do more stuff with DC's historical heroes. Everybody knows the cowboys and WW2 soldiers, but they have a ton more.
Brave and the bold was originally an anthology featuring the Silent Knight, the Golden Gladiator, the Viking Prince and Robin Hood!
