What if we didn't post on that Wolverine thread and continued posting awesome What If storylines?

Okay, what if Frank "Notoriously Dissapears after 3 to 5 issues of a title" Bigoski, actually wrote and finished a run at M2K?
Nah, really though, all joking aside... What if Captain America had never been found by the Avengers, set this in today's present Marvel, would the Avengers still be around? Would the present Civil-War story be about to happen?
Or another...
What if Professor Charles Xavier used his great mutant mind to find an army of X-Men to haunt the world as merciless terrorists, rather then heroes, eventually conquering the US, and later the World, would the US flag have fifty X's? In response Magneto leads the underground revolution of human and mutant freedom fighters working in peace called: The Brotherhood.

What if Xavier was never shot and killed at M2K? Would the massive crossovers with Apocalypse and Shadow King have ended differently? Would the schisms among the X-Men have occured? Come one guys. Let's think of some things that would be more specific to M2K. What if Vision had killed the Avengers?

There we go...
"What if Vision killed the Avengers?" and "What if Xavier had never been shot?" are great ones.
Would other Avengers have stepped up to fill the void? Would new heroes have been recruited into the ranks? Would Vision still have a stranglehold on Wakanda? I'd pay to read that story.

What if Barry Reese had never come to M2K?
He would have never made that post in his LJ, and Mick would never have made those dumb comments, and thus the boycott would never have gone into effect!
Remember the days before the boycott? ahh.....so long ago it seems

So where's my money ho?

Your penny is in the mail, cat daddy. Hey a penny saved is a penny earned sucka lol. But on the Xavier never dying thing...man his death is probably the single most impacting event at M2K. I'll name out some things that could be food for thought if Xavier had lived. I don't think Omega and Alpha would have ever occured. As such I don't think so many X-Men would be hanging around the mansion. Maybe some would have spilled over into X-Force changing its intial roster and its entire set of adventures possibly. Xavier would have probably been aware of Shadow King's posturing and stopped it before it got too far. But stopping Shadow King early on would probably have made The Dawn a loose cannon organization for the X-Men to deal. Gladiator would probably have never came to the Avengers for help against Count Abyss if Xavier was around and maybe the X-Men might have been able to stop Proctor from destroying the Shi'ar Empire. Xavier would have known that Apollyon was being possessed by demons and not have allowed Cyclops to kill him. Also I highly doubt Mark Rogers would have been killed by Cyclops if Xavier was around. I don't think Xavier would have sent Moonstar off to Parvenue like Cyclops did so the whole landscape of Force Works would be different. No telling who would have been the leader then tho I'm guessing Nova probably. Yea M2K History as we know would probably be obliterated lol.

That's true. Originally, M2K was built almost entirely on our X-Branch, which kind of gave us a pretty bad rep... In a way, it's coming back to bite us in the ass, but for the most part Xavier's death (which is still being felt today) has been a very vital plot point, much like it would be realistically.

M2K, despite its beginnings, feels more like a Heroes site rather than X-Men...

If someone takes a pivotal moment from something you wrote and turns it into a What If..., it's a compliment. Thanks Steve. Still thinking about myself...What If Hellstorm Had Married Hellcat?

The deaths of Xavier and Vision discussion gives me a little idea... every year, with the release of the Tookie awards, there should be a special accompanying "What If?" issue, where the previous year's winner for "Best Moment" never happened. Preferably by the writer who wrote the event in the first place. So, theoretically, next year we'd get to see Jeff Melton's take on, "What if Galactus devoured Asgard?" Add a little circumstance to the Tookie pomp.
I know I'd read.

Hey, that's actually a pretty damn good idea, Mark. I think that M2K's always had the edge when it comes to annual site awards and this could help make the event more of a spectacle. It'd give everyone a special incentive to vote for what they thought was Best Moment and see the outcome of the awards.
