Any one ever had this happen: You have a vague idea for a team, so you go to wikipedia ( or your big stack of 'Who's Who' if you are old like me) cause you just need one more character to give the team the right balance and next thing you know, you have scribbled notes for two separate teams and have stumbled upon three other characters that you'd love to write solo series for...?
It's about that point that I start crying or drinking or both.

It's about that point that I start crying or drinking or both. I go to Marvel.wikia.com and start hitting random character. That's such a time sink.

Literally all the time. Sometimes I will add a character at random thinking they'll just be an extra and suddenly inspiration will hit and they'll become a pivotal character out of nowhere. Necessity truly is the mother of invention. To happy accidents!

Another one that comes to mind: When either of the big two announce they are releasing a bunch of new titles ( like DC just did) I will find myself mentally thinking what my version would be.
Damage is a big monster created by a government program? Why didn't the government just recruit the original version, as he's pretty much a walking weapon anyway...? And off I go...

If I added all the characters I wanted into New Warriors, the team would probably be around 50 or so members.

One of my most used writing exercises: When I find myself in a state of writer's block I often go back and look at writings, notes and ideas I did LONG ago. Sometimes dusting one off and reworking it, fixing what had caused me to move on from it in the first place.

If I added all the characters I wanted into New Warriors, the team would probably be around 50 or so members. I actually think that would be cool. It's rare that you see large teams. I would love to see a team with something like 100 members. Obviously you wouldn't dedicate page time to all of them, but it would be interesting to see just how much an impact a team that big could make. Which also begs the question about how the world should actually function with teams like these. The Fantastic Four, if they were real, would probably change the course of social, scientific, and academic futures. They change the way we look at concept on a weekly basis.

I always liked the Legion of Superheroes for this very reason. They had COUNTLESS members but it never felt overstuffed.

Lost Light/More than Meets the Eye at IDW actually does that. They're a big ship with a large cast, and plenty of background characters. Wonder why they didn't do the same with the latest Inhumans series...

If writers create team books, then create a backup team in case something happens to the main cast. This is why in the recent Avengers, Spider-Man had to lie to save his reputation to the Avengers without showing his ID. The stupid thing is we never found out what happened to Annie Maria after Secret Empire ended. If Marvel needs to plug all these plot holes, and also What happened to Doc Ock? As we never saw his aftermath in SE # 9, and what he has planned for the Pym particles. if I did Amazing Spidey, I would have Annie Maria turn against Peter after what he did and side with Otto as the New Master Planner, and Otto would use the Pym Particles to make Annie taller. You know what's crap? No one uses Issue 25 as a millstone anymore. Remember when # 25 was a thing in comics?

The thing that I liked about Anna Marie was that she was a different type of character as a love interest. I think using Pym particles to make her taller detracts from her character, and also, I think that it doesn't take into account that if she did have Dwarfism, then making her bigger with Pym Particles wouldn't have any bearings on anything.

Not to mention the bad taste of the suggestion that she needs to be "fixed".

If Anna Maria is Peter's love interest, then why is he with Mockingbird? Peter never found Anna after Secret Empire ended, this would have led to her going to Otto after finding out what Peter did that cost her job at PI.

Not to mention the bad taste of the suggestion that she needs to be "fixed". The moment "Jackal" made that suggestion during Clone Conspiracy was the moment Doctor Octopus turned against him.

Not to mention the bad taste of the suggestion that she needs to be "fixed". Yeah, that's super ablist to suggest that. Yes, it is a disability. No it doesn't need to be fixed.
