Because I can't shut down my brain, I now have a line-up for an Immortal men, using existing DC immortals.
I think Silencer is the only one I haven't come up with my version of.

If anything, I may try to do something with the original Damage (Grant Emerson) at some point.

I like the new comics, but my brain keeps going 'why didn't they just use...?' and having so much fun writing 'My' Terrifics has only made my obsession worse.

The idea I had for Sideways is having him be more what can these powers do for me kinda like in that movie Jumper and then throw a big bad at him. He’ll be running from the big bad and find himself falling into the apartment of a DC hero like say Guy Gardner and smashes the table that had his beer and pizza on it, so of course Guy gets pissed and uses his ring to follow him. Guy catches up with him and is about to knock his lights out when they are interrupted by the big bad that’s chasing him.

I like the idea of Sideways gaining a mentor and/or partner by accidentally teleporting into their living room.
Gotta say what appeals to me about the character is how you can do street level stories as he tries to figure out being a superhero and then , due to the nature of his powers, have the story go crazy cosmic the very next issue.
Just when your brain is going 'Yeah, I get it, he's DC's Peter Parker', you could then end up with 'Holy crap, the New gods and Marvel Bunny just showed up!'

I like Sideways, but at the same time I don't want to get attached to him. DC has a habit of tossing their 'new and current' popular heroes to the scrap heap. Impulse, Bunker, Damage, Jurgen's Teen Titans, Static, the first New 52 Titans line-up, etc.

It was a shame they have to get pushed to the side like that.

While I am sad that DC has neglected the Milestone guys, a big chunk of Windstorm and the Charlton heroes, I am an obsessive silver age guy, so most of my outrage is over guys like space cabbie, B'wanna Beast and the Creeper.

I can relate most of my fanfic work is about "rescuing" underused", obscure and "mistreated" characters. The D-list is my A-list

I have been watching the old Batman the Animated Series cartoons over the last few weeks and the next episode is the one where the Creeper first shows up and starts stealing the Jokers shtick. I didn't really like what they did to him during 52 turning him into a Japanese Oni demon.Like a lot of things that happened in 52 it has recently been forgotten or looked over all together.

Creeper is kind of like how Moon Knight is with Marvel... a lot of writers just really have no idea what do with him and that is painfully obvious sometimes. Both are great characters though and ironically both favorites of mine

Yeah, the big two seem very intent on fixing characters that weren't really broken...and it nearly always results with them in worse shape then before.
I prefer the Mark Waid method of 'let's just scrape the barnacles off and see what was underneath...hey, I found a cool superhero!"
