New Challengers: I have mixed feelings. I appreciate them trying to integrate the Challengers history, but at the same time it feels like it's not fixing anything, but making it more convoluted. At the same time, I'm a sucker for adventure teams vs monsters.
Damage #5: Well, that took a turn. The less attention we pay to the government conspiracy stuff, the more I like this series.

Unexpected: Not sure how I feel about this. Like how all the characters use old DC hero names, but it feels very similar to what Immortal men is doing, so it isn't quite hooking me. It gets a three issue try, but I think I'll end up only sticking with one team. We'll see who wins.

So, the winners are:
Sideways ( teen angst and trippy cosmic should not work this well) Damage ( one of the better Hulk comics is from DC...?) Immortal men ( like the heroes, bored to tears by the generic villains) New Challengers (Not great, but so refreshing to have a series where I have no idea what happens next)

So, did New Challengers get canceled? The end of issue 6 feels awfully 'wrap it up and we'll pretend this was meant to be a mini the whole time'.
Can't believe I forgot to include Terrifics on my list! So much fun.

Can't believe I forgot to include Terrifics on my list! So much fun. I haven't seen anything to say New Challengers is officially cancelled. Officially, only Immortal Men and the Unexpected have been. Although, with New Challengers sales, it'll probably follow shortly.

Immortal men got the axe...?
I was wondering why there seemed to be a gap between issues.
Long as they keep Terrifics and Damage, I'll be happy.

Immortal men got the axe...? I was wondering why there seemed to be a gap between issues. Long as they keep Terrifics and Damage, I'll be happy. The Terrifics, Damage and Sideways all seem to be doing rather well. Silencer and Curse of Brimstone are mediocre sales but they're doing better than New Challengers and the already cancelled series. If they follow the trend: New Challengers will be next, then Curse of Brimstone, and then Silencer. I reckon the safest are Damage and Sideways, since their DC's answer to Hulk and Spider-Man respectively. Silencer has less of a USP, she's a poor man's Elektra in my opinion. Curse of Brimstone works as a heightened Ghost Rider concept so I'd love for them to keep it.

It's kind of weird that they haven't put Sideways into the Teen Titans or the upcoming Young Justice revival.

I like Damage and Sideways. The Terrifics not so much. I actually think Brimstone is good. It doesn't really fit the DC mythos, but I like it because I like Marvel's Ghost Rider.

It's kind of weird that they haven't put Sideways into the Teen Titans or the upcoming Young Justice revival. I kinda hope they don't. Sideways is currently his own brand, if they get him associated with other teen heroes then he could easily fall into that niche. They need to keep his branding strong, build on it, before integrating him like that.

I agree with this. I didn't like Spidey as a Avenger, as he is more of a urban hero. I think Sideways should stay solo as I like to see teen heroes start off as these solo heroes than going emo. I have a project with Everyverse that will be a teen learning about her parasite from another world and its gift.

Be interesting to incorporate the New age titles into DC2K and see if we could do a better job with them then DC did.
Course with my luck, everyone would get to the dibs first and I'd end up with Unexpected.

I think they'll all be making appearances sooner rather than later.

Sideways is currently appearing in back-ups in Action, with a possible mini next year when I get some spare time and can properly pitch it.

And Sideways is gone, with a rushed attempt to wrap up a couple threads and a whole lot left hanging. Shame, as there was a lot going on here and so much potential.
Only four to go, and from what I hear, Brimstone is next.
